Jaipur. District Collector Sandesh Nayak assumed charge as the District Collector of Jaipur on Thursday. Outgoing District Collector Dr. Jitendra Kumar Soni formally handed over the charge to him. The charge-taking ceremony was conducted in a dignified atmosphere at the District Collectorate on this occasion.

After assuming office, Sandesh Nayak stated that shouldering the responsibility of a district as significant and sensitive as Jaipur is, for him, a matter of pride as well as a major challenge. He expressed confidence that, with the cooperation of the dedicated team at the district administration, the effective, transparent, and timely implementation of public welfare schemes initiated by both the State and Central governments would be ensured. He further remarked that good governance is not merely a concept; rather, translating it into reality on the ground is the primary responsibility of the administration.  Sandesh Nayak clarified that the primary objective of the administration is to provide relief to the general public and to resolve their grievances in a time-bound manner. In this regard, the public hearing mechanism will be further strengthened and made more result-oriented to ensure the swift and effective disposal of every grievance. He directed officials to prioritize dialogue with the public and to address their issues with sensitivity.

Underscoring the importance of technological innovations in administrative functioning, Nayak stated that promoting e-governance would lead to enhanced transparency, accountability, and efficiency. Various IT-based systems, including the e-file system, will be made more effective to accelerate the decision-making process and prevent unnecessary delays. He further added that the actual implementation of various schemes would be reviewed through continuous monitoring of development works and field visits, ensuring that the benefits of these schemes reach the last person standing in the queue. Simultaneously, efforts will be made to steer the district toward new dimensions of development and good governance by encouraging innovative initiatives.

After assuming charge, Nayak held a meeting with senior officials of the district administration to conduct a preliminary review of the functioning of various departments, emphasizing the importance of mutual coordination, team spirit, and the adoption of a result-oriented work culture.

Present on this occasion were Chief Executive Officer Pratibha Verma, Additional District Collector (I) Vineeta Singh, Additional District Collector (IV) Ashish Kumar, along with district-level officials from various departments. It is noteworthy that Sandesh Nayak has previously served as the District Collector in the districts of Sirohi, Bharatpur, and Churu.
