Jaipur. A review meeting of the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) was held on Thursday in the auditorium, presided over by Deputy Chief Minister Premchand Bairwa. During the meeting, discussions were held regarding the progress and implementation of the Corporation’s State Budget announcements for the year 2026-27, as well as the execution of previous budget declarations. Consequently, relevant officials were directed to swiftly translate these public welfare-oriented announcements into reality and ensure their effective implementation. Several significant decisions were taken with the aim of providing accessible, safe, and modern transport services to the people of the state. He stated that a comprehensive roadmap has been presented, keeping in mind the future requirements of the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation.
Deputy Chief Minister Premchand Bairwa highlighted that, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, passenger amenities have been expanded on a massive scale. In this regard, the government has made travel more accessible for various sections of society; specifically, the fare concession for senior citizens (aged 60 to 80 years) has been increased from 30 percent to 50 percent. Furthermore, patients suffering from Muscular Dystrophy (along with their attendants), ‘Loktantra Senanis’ (Freedom Fighters of Democracy), and candidates appearing for competitive examinations are now being provided the benefit of free travel. Notably, in the year 2025, for the first time, women were provided with a two-day free travel facility on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
The Deputy Chief Minister further informed that, under the ‘Digital Rajasthan’ initiative, the passenger experience is being enhanced through the use of cutting-edge technologies to ensure safe and transparent travel for commuters. As part of this initiative, the ‘RSRTC Live App’ has been launched, enabling passengers to track the real-time location of buses. Additionally, the online portal ‘Samadhan’ is fully operational to facilitate the swift redressal of passenger grievances and complaints. Furthermore, the Deputy Chief Minister stated that over the past two years, the Corporation has set new benchmarks in operational efficiency, resulting in an increase in the Corporation’s revenue as well as a recorded growth in passenger volume. Additionally, Mr. Bairwa noted that the Corporation has received the prestigious ‘Skoch Order of Merit’ award for improvements in diesel mileage.
The Deputy Chief Minister further informed that, in view of the growing number of passengers in the state, the Corporation has not only procured new vehicles but is also successfully operating buses on rural routes—under the ‘Apni Bus-Rajasthan Roadways’ service—to ensure better connectivity for rural and remote areas.
Present on this occasion were Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation Commissioner Purushottam Sharma, along with other departmental officials of the Corporation.
