Jaipur: Launching a scathing attack on former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and the Congress party, former Leader of the Opposition and senior BJP leader Rajendra Rathore stated that Gehlot is miles removed from the “Reality Principle” (*Haqeeqat Shastra*) and is merely attempting to mislead the public through the “Politics of Waiting” (*Intezar Shastra*). Gehlot’s rhetoric constitutes a futile attempt to conceal the truth and gloss over his own failures. It is truly astonishing that the very person under whose watch the system was plundered—where institutional mechanisms were stifled, and where even a calamity like the COVID-19 pandemic was exploited for personal gain—is today raising questions regarding the state’s healthcare infrastructure. Gehlot, who presumes to lecture ministers on the perils of paternal attachment, has himself remained hopelessly ensnared by his own affection for his son, Vaibhav Gehlot.
Senior BJP leader Rajendra Rathore asserted that Gehlot, by usurping the legitimate claims of other leaders, thrust his son, Vaibhav Gehlot, into the electoral fray from constituencies such as Jodhpur and Jalore—only for the public to decisively reject him. Furthermore, during the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) elections, he humiliated senior leader Rameshwar Dudi in a bid to establish his son’s position; yet, today, he has the audacity to lecture ministers on the need to distance themselves from such paternalistic bias. Citing the period of the COVID-19 pandemic, Rathore noted that while the BJP extended its full cooperation to the government, the Congress party—seeking to turn even a disaster into an opportunity—indulged in corruption regarding the procurement of medicines, medical equipment, and Remdesivir injections. Moreover, Gehlot made 4,148 announcements over a span of five years—2,208 of which were never fulfilled—yet today, former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is expounding on the “philosophy of waiting.”
Senior BJP leader Rajendra Rathore stated that Gehlot is engaging in rhetoric regarding the IPD Tower, whereas the preceding Congress government had initiated major projects without proper planning, adequate parking facilities, or expert consultation. The current government is now rectifying these issues and driving the projects forward. Dismissing allegations of cost escalation as baseless, he noted that while construction had previously reached only 12 floors, the structure has now been completed up to 23 floors, and the project is expected to be fully completed by January 2027. He added that the Bhajanlal government is conducting recruitment processes in a transparent manner, prioritizing the interests of the youth. To date, 92,000 jobs have been provided, and recruitment for another 153,000 posts is currently underway, strictly adhering to the principle of “no favoritism, no corruption.” Rathore further remarked that while Gehlot speaks of medical colleges and healthcare schemes, irregularities within initiatives such as the RGHS came to light during his tenure; the current government has taken decisive action to address these issues and streamline the system.
Senior BJP leader Rajendra Rathore stated that the ongoing conflict in West Asia—involving Iran, the US, and Israel—has now completed one month, impacting the entire world. Gulf nations such as the UAE and Bahrain also fall within the ambit of this conflict; these countries account for approximately 80 percent of the world’s petroleum products. India, too, imports about 80 percent of its petroleum requirements from these very nations; consequently, a decline in production and a rise in prices are inevitable. He noted that despite crude oil prices exceeding $122 per barrel, the Central Government provided relief to the public by reducing excise duty by ₹10—a measure resulting in an annual revenue loss of approximately ₹1.75 lakh crore. Rathore informed that, notwithstanding the global crisis, the State Government has launched a 24-hour helpline to provide relief to the residents of the state and has taken concrete steps to ensure gas supply. Regular supply is currently being provided to over 1.84 crore domestic consumers, and preparations are underway to issue 5 lakh new PNG connections. He added that, taking strict action against black marketing, hoarding, and illegal refilling, inspections and raids have been conducted at thousands of locations, and FIRs have been registered; this has sent a clear message that such irregularities will not be tolerated. Rathore mentioned that on March 26, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma convened an all-party meeting to ensure the supply of crude oil, gas, and fertilizers, appealing to all participants for their cooperation. In this context, while the Congress party on one hand demands an all-party meeting, its leaders—once the meeting is actually convened—expose their own internal discord by making statements involving terms like “Parchi” (slip/directive) and “Intezar Shastra” (the doctrine of waiting). He further stated that the country currently possesses adequate reserves of petrol and diesel to last for approximately 60 days, and LPG reserves sufficient for one month; therefore, there is no need for panic. Senior BJP leader Rajendra Rathore stated that, on the economic front, Rajasthan’s GSDP is projected to reach ₹21.52 lakh crore in the year 2026-27—an increase of approximately 41.93 percent compared to the Congress’s tenure. Per capita income has risen from ₹1.67 lakh to ₹2.02 lakh, and capital expenditure has also doubled. He noted that the Bhajanlal government has implemented 19 policies thus far, whereas the Congress, despite making thousands of announcements during its term, fulfilled only half of them. Rathore asserted that this is not the time for political mudslinging, but rather for working together in unity. He urged the Congress to abandon petty politics, claiming that public participation in Congress events is steadily declining because the party lacks any substantive issues. Rathore affirmed that the Bhajanlal government stands firmly with the people of Rajasthan and remains committed to safeguarding the state’s interests under all circumstances.
