Jaipur. Launching a scathing counter-attack on the Congress on Saturday, BJP State President Madan Rathore characterized the opposition as detrimental to the country’s image. Taking aim at everyone from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, he asserted that during times of crisis, everyone ought to stand united with the nation. In contrast, he noted, the opposition is constantly attempting to mislead the country and malign its reputation on the international stage. This clearly reflects a palpable lack of patriotism in their statements. Dismissing allegations that the BJP is attempting to impose patriotism on others, he argued that if Congress leaders take offense at referring to an “enemy nation” as a “broker” (dalal), it merely exposes their own mindset. Rathore raised the pertinent question: who, exactly, is being offended by such terminology, and why?
BJP State President Madan Rathore stated that the Congress is attempting to sow discord within the country by constantly harping on perceived “deficiencies.” Had the opposition possessed genuine patriotism, he argued, they would have played a constructive role rather than engaging in mere criticism. Responding to those who question Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Rathore asserted that the nation has never before been blessed with such strong and influential leadership. He credited Modi’s robust global standing for the significant enhancement of India’s international credibility and the opening of new avenues for international cooperation.
BJP State President Madan Rathore further remarked that Gehlot himself is afflicted by *Putra Moh*—a blind, excessive attachment to one’s son. Gehlot has provided numerous opportunities to his son, Vaibhav Gehlot, to advance in politics—appointing him President of the Rajasthan Cricket Association and even fielding him in elections—yet he has failed to achieve success. Rathore concluded by saying, “To indulge in a habit oneself while advising others to abstain from it is neither appropriate nor fair.” Accusing the Congress of being unable to break free from dynastic politics, he termed it the party’s greatest weakness.
