Jaipur. A significant review meeting regarding the supply system for domestic and commercial LPG gas cylinders, as well as the expansion of PNG connections in the state, was held on Tuesday at the Ministry building, presided over by the Minister of Food and Civil Supplies, Sumit Godara. High-ranking officials from the Department of Food and Civil Supplies, along with representatives from oil and gas marketing companies, were present at the meeting. Discussions during the meeting focused on the status of LPG gas supply across the state, the distribution system, and the expansion of PNG services. Officials reported that the supply of domestic LPG cylinders in Rajasthan currently remains smooth, and in the non-domestic sectors, supply is also consistently increasing in line with demand. Officials from the oil and gas companies informed the meeting that, currently, the average delivery time for gas cylinders is being ensured within 4.5 days.

*Supply of Two Commercial LPG Cylinders in Rural Areas and Three in Urban Areas for Wedding Ceremonies*

With the objective of providing relief to the general public, Minister Sumit Godara issued directives to ensure the availability of LPG cylinders for wedding ceremonies in both rural and urban areas. He instructed officials to ensure that two 19-kilogram commercial gas cylinders are made available for wedding ceremonies in rural areas, and three 19-kilogram commercial gas cylinders for wedding ceremonies in urban areas, so that people do not have to face difficulties regarding alternative fuel sources.

To obtain commercial cylinders, applicants must submit an application to the concerned District Supply Officer (DSO), attaching a copy of the wedding invitation card. Upon receipt of the application, the DSO will coordinate with the local gas agency to arrange for the supply of the commercial cylinders.  *Prioritized Expansion of PNG Connections*

During the review meeting, special emphasis was placed on the expansion of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) connections. Godara directed the concerned officials and gas supply companies to work effectively towards laying new pipelines, providing new PNG connections, and generating widespread awareness among the general public and industries regarding the benefits of PNG.

*No Cylinder Supply Without e-KYC*

In the review meeting, the Minister of Food and Civil Supplies directed officials to ensure that LPG gas cylinders are not delivered to any consumer without e-KYC (electronic Know Your Customer) verification. This measure aims to ensure transparency and ensure that benefits reach only eligible individuals. Furthermore, Minister Sumit Godara instructed departmental officials not to classify newly constituted municipalities as rural areas, noting that there is a difference in the gas cylinder booking lead times between urban and rural regions.

During the meeting, Ambrish Kumar, the Secretary of the Department of Food and Civil Supplies, stated that continuous efforts are being undertaken to expand PNG coverage across the state.
