Jaipur. A review meeting regarding departmental schemes and programs was held on Tuesday at the Government Secretariat, presided over by Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Women and Child Development, Diya Kumari.

During the meeting—held in the presence of Poonam, Secretary of the Department of Women and Child Development, and Vasudev Malawat, Director of Integrated Child Development Services—Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari discussed the implementation of the State Government’s budget announcements and issued necessary directives. She directed that the 11 budget announcements related to the Department of Women and Child Development for the financial year 2026-27 be implemented in a time-bound manner. Of these, one budget announcement has already been implemented, while officials were directed to ensure the timely completion of the remaining 10 announcements. Additionally, she discussed the ‘Sankalp Patra’ (Vision Document/Manifesto) and issued relevant instructions.

During the review meeting, she directed that priority be accorded to the training of Anganwadi workers. She emphasized that trained Anganwadi workers are better equipped to manage the operations of an Anganwadi center. She stated that this would ensure better care and services for the children attending the Anganwadi centers. Furthermore, it would lead to improved services for the pregnant and lactating women, as well as adolescent girls, visiting these centers.

The Deputy Chief Minister directed officials to establish better coordination with the Department of Education to ensure the intensive and effective conduct of pre-school education activities. She issued instructions to initiate measures to relocate Anganwadi centers currently operating in rented buildings to government school premises. She further directed that, for those Anganwadi centers that continue to operate in rented buildings, it must be ensured that they are housed in rented premises equipped with superior facilities.  He issued directives to ensure the availability of basic amenities—such as electricity, drinking water, and functional toilets—at Anganwadi centers, and instructed that the necessary coordination be established with the relevant departments to achieve this. He further reviewed the progress of key initiatives, including the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, the transformation of Anganwadi centers into ‘Nandghars,’ and other significant schemes; he subsequently directed officials to ensure the timely fulfillment of all targets set for the current financial year.
