Smugglers Fired 16 Rounds at Police Before Fleeing
Major Success for Dhariyawad Police and DST
The State View, Pratapgarh/Jaipur (Sunil Sharma) Under the direction of Pratapgarh District Superintendent of Police (SP) B. Aditya, the Pratapgarh Police achieved a major breakthrough under ‘Operation Trinetra’ by seizing 762 kg and 150 grams of illicit *Doda-Chura* (crushed opium pods). The estimated value of this consignment in the international market is reported to be ₹1.14 crore (₹11,480,000).
SP Aditya stated that on Sunday, the DST team pursued a suspicious pickup truck (RJ 21 GD 6056) and alerted the Dhariyawad police station. The smugglers breached a police barricade, rammed into the official police jeep, and fled towards Udaipur. During the chase, the smugglers fired approximately 15 to 16 rounds at the police team with the intent to kill. Faced with the police’s retaliatory action and encirclement, the smugglers abandoned their vehicle in the forests of Arampura and escaped under the cover of darkness. A search of the abandoned pickup truck in the forest yielded 38 sacks filled with illicit *Doda-Chura* and one live cartridge. This successful operation was executed by a team comprising Trainee RPS Officer Shakti Dayma, Station House Officer (SHO) Hazarilal Meena, and DST In-charge Pratap Singh. The Dhariyawad police have registered a case and have launched a manhunt for the absconding smugglers.

*Illegal Assets Worth ₹1.12 Crore Frozen; Smugglers’ Luxurious Homes and Scorpio SUV Now Under Police Custody*
Under the leadership of SP B. Aditya, the police have dealt a severe blow to drug traffickers in the district, aiming to cripple their financial backbone. Under Section 68F(1) of the NDPS Act, the police have frozen movable and immovable assets worth ₹1.12 crore belonging to two notorious smugglers.
SP Aditya stated that this action has been initiated against the smuggler brothers—Shahrukh Khan and Dilawar Khan, residents of Hathuniya—who were arrested by the Dholapani police on December 30, 2025. A financial investigation revealed that the smugglers had constructed two luxurious houses in Hathuniya village, each worth ₹50 lakh, using proceeds derived from the trafficking of MD, smack, and opium. Additionally, a Scorpio SUV, purchased with earnings from their smuggling activities and valued at ₹12 lakh, was also identified.
**Approval Received from Delhi; Seizure Boards Now Affixed to Properties**
Udayveer Singh, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Hathuniya, had submitted a proposal for the freezing of these assets to the SAFEMA (Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators) Authority in New Delhi. Following the receipt of permanent approval from the Competent Authority, the accused individuals’ properties were officially frozen on Monday, March 23, and seizure boards were affixed to the premises. Multiple serious cases related to smuggling have been registered against both accused individuals across Delhi, Jaipur, and Madhya Pradesh.
The Superintendent of Police has clarified that this campaign will continue unabated against anyone who directly or indirectly aids smugglers, as well as against those who have amassed assets through illicit earnings.
