Chief Secretary V. Srinivas has said that this year, Rajasthan Day (March 19, 2026) should be organized in a grand manner under the joint aegis of the Tourism, Art, Literature, Culture, and Archaeology departments. Artists representing various arts of the state should be provided a platform. He directed that the Art, Literature, and Culture Department should organize a one-day brainstorming camp on a large scale in Jaipur.

Chief Secretary V. Srinivas chaired a review meeting of the Tourism Department and the Art, Literature, Culture, and Archaeology Departments at the Secretariat on Monday, chaired by Chief Secretary V. Srinivas and in the presence of Additional Chief Secretary, Tourism, Art, Literature, Culture, and Archaeology Departments, Mr. Praveen Gupta, and Commissioner of Tourism, Mrs. Rukmini Riyad.

The Chief Secretary reviewed the Tourism Department’s performance in Rising Rajasthan and described Rajasthan tourism as economically important. He stated that the Rajasthan Tourism Department has achieved significant achievements in the last two years. Rajasthan Tourism has good visibility on social media. He added that Rajasthan’s art, literature, and culture are crucial to tourism, attracting the entire world.

Encouraging the officials of the State Tourism Department, the Chief Secretary said that working for the Rajasthan Tourism Department is a matter of pride. “You should all be proud of this and work with even more energy.”

Reviewing the state’s Art, Literature, Culture, and Archaeology Department, the Chief Secretary stated that Rajasthan’s culture is very rich. To promote the state’s cultural heritage, rich literature, and glorious history, each academy should organize at least one major event annually related to the state’s language, literature, and art.

The Chief Secretary emphasized that our rich art, culture, and literature should be preserved and promoted.  He directed that a one-day brainstorming camp on art, literature, and culture be organized on a large scale in Jaipur, in which he will be present.

The Chief Secretary directed the re-energization of art and literature institutions. He expressed displeasure over the low publication of books by academies and directed the publication of books by prominent Rajasthani writers. He directed that books on various subjects be published by at least 15 leading writers from Rajasthan.

The Chief Secretary stated that Rajasthan is the only state in India where institutions covering every aspect of literature, art, and culture have been established. These institutions should be utilized to promote art, literature, and culture in a better way. He urged departmental officials to work with full energy to promote literature and art.

The Chief Secretary directed that information about events taking place at Ravindra Manch and Jawahar Kalakar Kendra be widely publicized. He directed that artists involved in the performing arts be encouraged by providing them with a large-scale platform and providing them with better opportunities for performance.

The Chief Secretary directed that vacant posts in the Tourism, Art, Literature and Culture, and Archaeology departments be filled on priority. He said that posts that can be filled through departmental promotions should be filled through promotions with immediate effect.

Tourism Commissioner Rukmini Riyad, while giving a presentation, informed that the Tourism Policy 2025 has been implemented in the state. Similarly, the new Rajasthan Film Promotion Policy 2025 has also been released. She informed that the state has nine UNESCO World Heritage Sites. She also reported that this year there has been a record increase in the number of domestic tourists in the state. She expressed that the Tourism Department is performing well in the tourism marketing segment.

The Tourism Commissioner stated that in addition to domestic tourism promotion, foreign tourism promotion is also being targeted.  He informed that the Rajasthan Tourism Department is performing better than other states on social media. The Rajasthan Tourism YouTube channel is ranked fourth in India.

The Tourism Commissioner briefed the department on the progress of the Rajasthan Tourism Department’s budget announcements, including the strengthening of the Tourist Security Force. He also informed the commission about the promotion of women security personnel in the Tourist Security Force.

Deputy Secretary of Art, Literature and Culture Anuradha Gogia, Director of Archaeology Department Pankaj Dharendra, Chief Executive Officer of Rajasthan Heritage Authority Ram Ratan Sharma, Director of Rajasthan State Archives, Bikaner Chandrasen Shekhawat, Secretary of Rajasthan Sahitya Academy, Udaipur Basant Singh Solanki, Director of Arabic Persian Research Institute, Tonk, Bhupendra Kumar Yadav, Jaipur Kathak Centre Secretary Shruti Mishra, Rajasthani Language, Literature and Culture Academy, Bikaner Sharad Kevaliya, Indian Folk Art Board Udaipur, TC Marwa, Director of Rajasthan Sanskrit Academy, Jaipur Lata Shrimali, Secretary of Rajasthan Lalit Kala Academy Rajneesh Harsh, Secretary of Punjabi Academy NP Singh, Secretary of Rajasthan Sangeet Natak Academy Gomti Sharma and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
