In accordance with the vision of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the District Administration is undertaking strict measures to ensure the uninterrupted supply of domestic and commercial LPG gas cylinders in Jaipur city, as well as to curb illegal refilling, storage, and black marketing.
Under the guidance of District Collector Dr. Jitendra Kumar Soni, District Supply Officer (Jaipur-I) Priyavrat Singh Charan launched a special campaign across Jaipur city, constituting three dedicated enforcement teams for this purpose.
During the entire operation, a total of 83 gas cylinders (both domestic and commercial) and one pickup vehicle were seized. Furthermore, upon the *prima facie* discovery of the involvement of Urmil Gas Agency, Lal Kothi, steps are being taken to register an FIR against the concerned individuals at the relevant police station.
Special Enforcement Team “A” comprised Kavita Sharma (Enforcement Officer) and Sunita Chaudhary (Enforcement Inspector); Team “B” included Pooja Sharma and Vijayalakshmi Sharma (Enforcement Officers); and Team “C” consisted of Nirmala Chaudhary (Enforcement Officer) and Priya Gangwani (Enforcement Inspector).
Led by District Supply Officer Charan, the special enforcement teams conducted a raid near the ‘Cheel Gadi’ restaurant in the Airport Road, Sanganer area. During the operation, it was confirmed that illegal refilling—transferring gas from domestic cylinders into commercial cylinders—was being carried out for the purpose of black marketing. From the site, 14 commercial and 69 domestic gas cylinders, along with one pickup vehicle, were seized.
During the inspection, it was discovered that approximately 2 kilograms of gas were missing from about 15 domestic cylinders. A Legal Metrology Officer (LMO) was summoned to the spot to conduct an official verification of the measurements. Strict action has been initiated against two individuals found to be involved in this illegal activity. Furthermore, two special enforcement teams inspected two gas agencies and issued directives to ensure the uninterrupted supply of domestic gas cylinders, to promptly resolve consumer grievances, and to prevent the formation of unnecessary queues within the agency premises.
It is noteworthy that the District Administration is already conducting a campaign titled “Operation Pravartan – Vigilant Citizen, Safe City” in Jaipur city to combat illegal gas refilling activities.
The District Administration has appealed to the general public to immediately report any instances of illegal gas refilling, storage, or black marketing observed anywhere, so that the safety of the public and the protection of consumers’ rights can be ensured.
