Jaipur. Law and Legal Affairs Minister Jogaram Patel said in the Assembly on Tuesday that an additional District and Sessions Court is being established in Chauhatan as per last year’s budget announcement. Upon receiving a proposal from the High Court for the construction of advocates’ chambers, land allocation will be initiated. Construction of the chambers will then begin based on the availability of resources.
The Law and Legal Affairs Minister was responding to supplementary questions posed by MLA Aadu Ram Meghwal during Question Hour. He stated that pending cases and their disposal are within the jurisdiction of judicial officers and the Rajasthan High Court. Nevertheless, the state government is continuously striving to make the judicial system more effective. He stated that in the last two years, more cases have been disposed of than new cases have been filed. This has reduced the number of pending cases in subordinate courts. He stated that the government is striving to further reduce pendency so that the public can access speedy and accessible justice.
Minister Patel stated that the government is also continuously working to expand judicial institutions. He stated that the previous government opened two DJ courts in five years, while the current government has established eight DJ courts. Similarly, the previous government opened one CJM court in five years, while the current government has opened eight CJM courts.
Earlier, in a written reply to the member’s original question, the Law and Legal Affairs Minister said that currently, no proposal for construction of advocates’ chambers is under consideration before the state government in the newly formed Additional District and Sessions Court, Chauhatan. He said that as per the information received from the Rajasthan High Court, currently, accommodation facility is not available for judicial officers in the Additional District and Sessions Court, Chauhatan. Whereas, in the Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate Court, court buildings have been constructed as per the standards for the complainants.
