A crucial review meeting was held on Friday at the State Secretariat, chaired by Chief Secretary V. Srinivas, regarding the effective implementation of ‘Compliance Reduction and Deregulation Phase-2’. The Chief Secretary said that the state government has performed well in all the priority areas identified in the first phase of ‘Compliance Reduction and Deregulation’, and Rajasthan should ensure similar performance in the second phase as well. He instructed that the action plan for the better implementation of Phase-2 be prepared and submitted by February 10th.
Mr. Srinivas said that the main objective of these reforms is to develop a simple, transparent, and effective system for citizens, industries, and entrepreneurs by eliminating unnecessary rules and complex procedures. Compliance reduction and deregulation will improve the speed and quality of services and bring about positive changes in the state’s administrative and economic structure. He said that the successful implementation of these reforms will relieve businesses from the complexities of repeatedly obtaining permits, submitting documents, and inspections. This will particularly benefit startups, MSMEs, and new entrepreneurs, ensuring savings in their time, costs, and resources.
Additional Chief Secretary of the Department of Industries and Commerce, Shikhar Agarwal, said that as a result of the comprehensive, structural, and far-sighted reforms being undertaken by the state government, Rajasthan has further strengthened its position among the leading states in the field of compliance reduction and deregulation. Shikhar Agarwal said that the roles of the concerned departments have been clearly defined for all the areas identified under Phase-2, and the action plan is being finalized.
The meeting discussed reforms related to land use, building construction, utilities and various permits, electricity, environment, tourism, education, and health.  During this time, Additional Chief Secretary, Higher and Technical Education Kuldeep Ranka, Additional Chief Secretary, Forest and Environment Anand Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary Tourism, Praveen Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary, Administrative Reforms and Coordination, Dinesh Kumar, and other senior officials from the concerned departments were present.
