Transmission lines will strengthen the state’s power supply – Chief Secretary

To make the state self-reliant in the energy sector, it is essential to strengthen the transmission lines. These transmission lines will also strengthen the power supply of the entire country with the green energy produced in Western Rajasthan. To address the Right of Way (ROW) issues arising during the construction of these inter-state transmission lines, Chief Secretary V. Srinivas held a review meeting with all the District Collectors via video conferencing on Friday.
In the meeting, the Chief Secretary said that transmission lines are the backbone of the state’s power supply system and any obstruction to them affects development work. He instructed the District Collectors to ensure the speedy resolution of ROW-related problems on a priority basis.
The Chief Secretary clarified that land-related disputes, local objections, and administrative procedures should be resolved in a time-bound manner by establishing better coordination between departments, so that there is no unnecessary delay in energy projects. He also directed that on-site reviews of the problems should be conducted wherever necessary.
In the meeting, officials from the Energy Department and concerned transmission agencies shared information about the ROW problems being faced in various districts. The Chief Secretary instructed all the District Collectors to provide full cooperation in smoothly advancing the state government’s energy projects and strengthening the energy transmission system.
The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary, Environment and Climate Change Department, Anand Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary, Energy Department, Ajitabh Sharma, Managing Director, Rajasthan Vidyut Prasaran Nigam, Siddharth Sihag, along with officials from transmission agencies and other concerned departments.
