Ravikant, instructed field officers to pay special attention to revenue collection, discussing in detail the strategy for revenue collection in the final period of the financial year to achieve the revenue targets.  Currently, the Mines Department is ahead in revenue collection compared to the same period last year, with an 11 percent growth rate. He said that the computerized weighbridge module and vehicle tracking system are beneficial for both the department and the leaseholders.

Principal Secretary Mines, T. Ravikant, gave these instructions on Friday during a review meeting with Director Mines, Mahaveer Prasad Meena, and senior officers at the Udaipur Mines Building. He directed that action be taken to recover fines during operations against illegal mining activities, royalty collection on RCC-ERCC contracts, regular review, analysis and guidance on revenue collection at the SME level, regular review at the Mines Department’s finance officer level, coordination with offices lagging in revenue collection to expedite recovery, recovery of old arrears, and 100 percent recovery of current dues. Effective efforts are to be made to recover revenue from all possible sources.

T. Ravikant said that there is a need to expedite the testing and installation of the computerized weighbridge module being developed by the department.  The Vehicle Tracking System is also being implemented in a phased manner. Field officers will have to expedite the implementation of the computerized weighbridge module and the VTS system.

Director Mines, Mahaveer Prasad Meena, said that coordinated efforts are being made to achieve the revenue targets. He assured that revenue collection will be further accelerated by the end of the financial year.  The departmental monitoring system has also been strengthened for this purpose.  Additional Director Headquarters, Mahesh Mathur, stated that the integration of weighbridges is a priority for the department.
