Jaipur: Countering the statement made by the National President of the Mahila Congress regarding the *Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam* (Women’s Reservation Bill) Amendment, BJP Mahila Morcha State President Rakhi Rathore asserted that Alka Lamba suffers from a lack of information and is in dire need of doing her homework. She described Lamba’s allegations as baseless and born out of desperation, suggesting that had she taken the time to read up on the subject beforehand, she might have been able to articulate something meaningful. Rakhi Rathore declared that women—whom Congress views merely as a vote bank—will deliver a fitting reply to the party through the power of their votes.

BJP Mahila Morcha State President Rakhi Rathore further stated that Congress is deliberately attempting to sow confusion among women, whereas the reality is that the party’s support base within the female demographic is steadily eroding. The extremely low turnout of women at Congress’s protest demonstrations makes it abundantly clear that the party is failing to garner their support. In stark contrast, the BJP’s *Jan Akrosh Mahila Padyatra* (Women’s Mass Outrage March) has received widespread support from women—a development that has left Congress visibly rattled. Rathore pointed out that a Congress-led protest regarding the prices of gas cylinders saw the participation of a mere 20 to 30 women, while a demonstration concerning the *Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam* failed to attract even 70 women. She concluded that this serves as a clear indication of Congress’s weakening position.  Rakhi Rathore, State President of the BJP Mahila Morcha, addressed the issue of delimitation, stating that if the Congress party had any objections to this process, they should have voiced their opposition much earlier. The bill passed in 2023 outlines a specific sequence of steps: first the census, followed by delimitation, and finally, the implementation of reservations. Questioning the Congress party’s intentions, Rathore pointed out that despite successfully passing a bill in the Rajya Sabha in 2010, the Congress failed to introduce it in the Lok Sabha—even though the BJP was prepared to extend its support at that time. She asserted that the Congress is now merely engaging in a deliberate campaign to spread confusion solely for the sake of political gain.

She further noted that Union Home Minister Amit Shah has explicitly clarified in Parliament that the notification regarding reservations will be issued only after the processes of census and delimitation are completed following the year 2026. Rathore expressed confidence that the promise made by the Prime Minister will undoubtedly be fulfilled, and the women of the nation will receive their rightful entitlements.

Rakhi Rathore asserted that Congress leaders have absolutely no moral standing to speak on the subject of women’s safety. During the Congress regime, Rajasthan ranked first in the country in terms of crimes against women and incidents of rape. The women and daughters of the state felt unsafe, while ministers within their own Assembly mocked women by characterizing Rajasthan as a “land of men.” Today, however, women in Rajasthan can step out of their homes safely, and there has been a continuous decline in crime rates. The Bhajanlal government in the state is working with women’s safety as its top priority. If allegations are leveled against anyone, action will be taken strictly in accordance with the law; under the BJP government, no criminal is ever granted protection or impunity.
