Under the chairmanship of District Collector Awadhesh Meena, a district-level review meeting of the Education Department was held on Tuesday at the Collectorate hall. During the meeting, the Collector assessed the ground-level implementation of departmental schemes and directed officials to complete targets within stipulated timelines.
The Collector reviewed the enrollment progress under the “Praveshotsav” campaign. He instructed officials to conduct door-to-door surveys to bring dropout children back to school, ensuring that no child is deprived of education. He also examined the distribution status of free textbooks, directing that any shortage be immediately addressed through coordination with nodal centers.
Special emphasis was laid on the quality and hygiene of the Mid-Day Meal. Officials were instructed to conduct surprise inspections in schools to ensure the nutritional value and cleanliness of the meals. The Collector also reviewed progress related to fee reimbursement and physical verification of students admitted under the Right to Education (RTE) Act in private schools.
Additionally, the Collector reviewed the status of budget announcements related to the Education Department by the state government. He made it clear that delays in budget-related works would not be tolerated. Discussions were also held regarding repair of damaged classrooms and other construction works under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF), with instructions to ensure quality work within deadlines.
The Collector further directed that complaints received through public hearings and the Sampark Portal be resolved on priority and categorized as “satisfactory.”
The meeting was attended by the Chief District Education Officer, all Block Education Officers, and other concerned officials and engineers.
