Jaipur. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma stated that, under the ‘Viksit Gram-Viksit Ward’ campaign, a master plan and roadmap for the development of villages and cities—aligned with requirements projected for the years 2030, 2035, and 2047—are being prepared by incorporating suggestions from local residents. Mapping constitutes a critically important pillar of this campaign. He issued directives to formulate a concrete action plan for the digital mapping aspect of this campaign, leveraging the expertise and support of the Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics (BISAG-N).
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma was presiding over a meeting on Thursday at the Chief Minister’s Residence regarding the promotion of digital mapping across various departmental projects, in collaboration with BISAG (N). He noted that, within the ‘Viksit Gram-Viksit Ward’ campaign, this technology would facilitate the formulation of plans by enabling a precise understanding of the actual needs of villages and cities. Furthermore, it will prove instrumental in crafting development plans that specifically address the fundamental requirements of distinct regions. He directed officials to make maximum use of digital mapping techniques within the framework of this campaign. It is noteworthy that this campaign, operational from March 19 to May 15, encompasses over 14,000 Gram Panchayats (village councils) and more than 10,000 urban wards.
The Chief Minister further remarked that, under the aegis of PM GatiShakti, BISAG (N) is currently engaged in integrating various central ministries onto a unified digital platform. Through this platform, it is possible to monitor the progress of projects across all departments in real-time by integrating them; this will accelerate the implementation of schemes, enhance transparency within the system, and enable a more efficient utilization of resources. He instructed officials to utilize this platform at every stage of a project—from its conceptualization and development through to its final implementation.
During the meeting, T.P. Singh, Director General of BISAG (N), delivered a presentation explaining that BISAG (N) employs GIS-based technology to facilitate data integration and to map various development activities—including the precise geographical locations of infrastructure-related projects. Through this initiative, projects spanning the road, rail, energy, water, and urban development sectors across the country are being consolidated onto a single platform, thereby enabling their effective visualization and coordination.
Present on the occasion were Chief Secretary V. Srinivas, along with senior officials from various government departments.
