Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Kota-Bundi Greenfield Airport foundation stone laying ceremony via video conferencing on Saturday. He noted that last week, he had laid the foundation stone and inaugurated development projects worth thousands of crores of rupees from Ajmer. He also handed out appointment letters to 21,000 youth from Rajasthan at the same event. He said that now the opportunity has come to launch this important project related to Kota. The occurrence of two major development programs in Rajasthan in the same week is a significant message.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that work is progressing rapidly in Rajasthan on infrastructure, employment opportunities for youth, and schemes for farmers and women. Today marks a day of renewed hope and achievement for the entire Hadoti region, including Kota, Bundi, Baran, and Jhalawar. The Kota-Bundi Greenfield Airport, to be built at a cost of ₹1,500 crore, will accelerate the development of the entire region in the coming years. He stated that in November 2023, he had promised the people of Kota that the airport would be realized. Until now, residents of Kota had to take flights from Jaipur or Jodhpur. This was time-consuming and inconvenient, but now things are about to change. When this airport opens, travel will become easier and trade will increase in Kota and the surrounding area.

*New airport will enhance potential*

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Kota is not only a hub of education but also a major energy hub. Kota produces electricity from nuclear, coal, gas, and water sources. This land of Hadoti is also renowned for its heritage. The flavor of Kota Kachori, Kota Doria, and the brilliance of Kota stone and sandstone have earned them recognition worldwide. He said that the aroma of coriander and Bundi’s basmati rice has reached international markets. This region is known for its hard work, production, and potential. Kota’s new airport will enhance its potential.

*The Land of Hadoti is a Center of Enterprise and Faith*

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Kota and the land of Hadoti are also centers of enterprise and faith. For centuries, devotees from across the country and the world have visited the holy shrine of Shri Mathuradhish Ji, the pilgrimage sites of Keshavrayapatan, Khadi Ganesh Ji, and Godavari Balaji Dham. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Kota is progressing in all directions in the field of connectivity. Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, both major railway stations in Kota are being equipped with modern facilities. The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway passes through Kota-Bundi.  Major cities like Delhi, Vadodara, and Mumbai are now just a few hours away. Improved road and rail connectivity has spurred the establishment of new industries. This region will become a major hub, especially for agro-based industries. Following rail and road connectivity, a new chapter in air connectivity will accelerate Kota’s development. The Kota airport will bring new opportunities for progress to the entire Hadoti region and surrounding districts.

*Now the number of airports exceeds 160*

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also stated that when connectivity increases, the potential for development accelerates. Over the past 11 years, airports built in various parts of the country have given new impetus to development. Before 2014, there were only about 70 airports in the country, but now this number has increased to over 160. New airports have facilitated air travel, boosted tourism, created employment opportunities for youth, and accelerated regional development. New airports have opened in areas around Delhi, including in Hisar, Hindon, and Jewar.

The Prime Minister said that when the state government and the central government work together, with clear intentions and strong resolve, the pace of development increases manifold. This is precisely what is happening in Rajasthan today. The strong foundation of a developed Rajasthan is strengthening the resolve for a developed India.

*Kota Airport Dream Comes True Under Double-Engine Government: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla*

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, speaking at the foundation stone-laying ceremony in Shambhupura, said that the people of the Kota region had been demanding a Greenfield Airport for decades. The foundation stone-laying ceremony for the Kota-Bundi Greenfield Airport in Shambhupura today has fulfilled a major dream for the people of the Hadoti region. He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that the promise made by the Prime Minister in 2023 on the land of Kota has been fulfilled today.

Birla also stated that the dream of an airport in Kota is coming true under the double-engine government. Kota already has excellent road and rail connectivity, ample water, and is a major power producer. With improved air connectivity, new doors of development will open in Kota. He added that to promote industry in the region, RIICO has also pledged to develop 600 hectares of land near the new airport.

The Lok Sabha Speaker said that Kota is not only a city of education, but its students also lead the country and the world. In the future, Kota will become an IT hub. He said that new doors of development will open in all sectors, including the industrial sector, agro-processing plants, and tourism, and Kota will become one of the fastest-growing regions in the country. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, drinking water projects are coming to fruition in the Hadoti region in the last two years. The Chief Minister has also undertaken significant work to ensure water supply to every farm and every home in this region.

*Civil Aviation Becomes Civil Aviation Under the Leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi: Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu*

Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu said that under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the long-awaited and dream of a Greenfield Airport in Kota has now been fulfilled.  After the construction of the airport, new possibilities will be created for the people here in the field of tourism, employment and business. He said that Rajasthan is the land of heroes, here welcome is a tradition and protection of self-respect is a resolution.

Naidu also said that Rajasthan is known in India as a state with glorious history, bravery and culture. Ajmer, Pushkar and Mount Abu have created a distinct identity in the form of religious tourism. He said that Kota is known throughout the country as the city of education. As per the thinking and dream of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, along with rail and road connectivity, airport connectivity is also going to improve here.

The Union Civil Aviation Minister stated that a 20,000-square-meter terminal will be constructed at a cost of ₹1,507 crore. He stated that the new greenfield airport will be built on 1,100 acres. The efforts of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma for this new airport are commendable, as the Chief Minister prioritized allocating land for this airport.

Naidu also stated that the new airport terminal will preserve heritage while blending modernity. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a new airport has been inaugurated every 45 days since 2014. Air travel is now accessible not just to the wealthy but also to the common man. Civil aviation has now become civilian aviation.

*Development of every section of society by preparing a roadmap in two years: Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma*

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said that two years ago, the state government prepared a roadmap for the upliftment of farmers, laborers, women, the poor, and youth, keeping in mind the needs of the state. Our government is working to meet the water needs of farmers. Work is underway on the Ram Jal Setu Link Project and the Yamuna Water Agreement. Work is also underway to ensure adequate water supply through the Indira Gandhi Canal Project and the Ganga Canal.

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said that the Dewas project in Udaipur has been advanced. Work is continuing on water harvesting from the Brahmani River and the Som-Kamala-Amba project. He said that work is progressing rapidly on the Navnera, Isarda, and Parwan Akawad projects for the Hadoti region. Our government is committed to providing water to every farm and drinking water to every home.

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma stated that Kota has good road and rail connectivity. Now, with the availability of air connectivity, the region will become a hub for both education and industry. He added that the government has undertaken significant work to make the state self-reliant in the power sector. As a result, farmers in 22 districts are receiving daytime electricity. By 2027, farmers will receive daytime electricity throughout the state.

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma also stated that in the first year of the state government, we organized the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit, where groundbreaking was done for MoUs worth ₹8 lakh crore, out of a total MoU of ₹35 lakh crore. This has provided employment to the youth of the state. He added that during the previous government, papers were leaked, crushing the dreams of the youth. However, not a single paper was leaked during our government. We promised to provide 4 lakh government jobs and 6 lakh private sector jobs in five years, which our government is fulfilling.  On February 28th, Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented appointment letters to over 21,000 youth. Nearly 1.25 lakh appointments have been made so far. A recruitment calendar for 1.25 lakh jobs has been released for 2026. Our government has also sent those responsible for the paper leak during the previous government behind bars.

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma stated that our government has fulfilled 73 percent of its promises in its more than two-year tenure. In addition to the ₹6,000 Kisan Samman Nidhi being provided under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the state government has also provided an additional ₹3,000 Samman Nidhi, bringing the total amount to ₹9,000. He added that our government is providing bonuses on MSP wheat purchases. Interest-free loans are being provided to farmers. Similarly, through work in the field of women’s upliftment and empowerment, 16 lakh Didis have been created.

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma stated that the government is working on the Prime Minister’s pledge of “Gyan (poor, youth, food providers, women). Free medical treatment up to ₹25 lakh is being provided to the poor. The Social Security Pension Scheme has been strengthened and pension amounts have been increased. The honorarium of ASHA and Anganwadi workers has also been increased. He stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government is implementing schemes to improve the living standards of those in need.

Earlier, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, and Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu laid the foundation stone for the Kota-Bundi Greenfield Airport. They also performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the Parwan Akawad Drinking Water Project and the Naunera Drinking Water Project.

On this occasion, Education Minister Madan Dilawar, Public Health Engineering Minister Kanhaiyalal Choudhary, Minister of State for Energy (Independent Charge) Hiralal Nagar, Minister of State for Cooperation and Civil Aviation (Independent Charge) Gautam Kumar Dak, Chief Secretary V. Srinivas, MLAs Sandeep Sharma, Kalpana Devi, Harimohan Sharma along with other public representatives and a large number of common people were present.
