Stadium Construction Under the Integrated Stadium Policy-2015 and Major Dhyanchand Stadium Scheme – Youth Affairs and Sports Minister

Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Colonel Rajyavardhan Rathore stated in the Assembly on Wednesday that proposals can be submitted under the rules for stadium construction under the Integrated Stadium Policy-2015 and the Major Dhyanchand Stadium Scheme. He stated that stadiums already exist at Government Higher Secondary School, Chhabra, and Chhipabarod. Currently, no approval has been issued for the construction of a new stadium. He also stated that the Municipal Corporation, Chhabra, has not submitted any proposal to the Sports Department for stadium construction under any scheme.
The Youth Affairs and Sports Minister was responding to supplementary questions posed by MLA Pratap Singh Singhvi during Question Hour. He informed that six projects have been approved for the Chhabra Stadium under the Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee District Upliftment Scheme. Of these, the convention center project has been cancelled. He stated that the implementing agency for these works is the Rural Development Department, not the Sports Department.
Earlier, in a written response to the member’s original question, the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports stated that the Youth Affairs and Sports Department had undertaken the construction of stadiums at Government Higher Secondary Schools, Chhabra and Chhipabarod, through the implementing agency, RSRDC. He stated that in 2015-16, an amount of ₹51.21 lakh was approved for boundary walls, ground leveling, and other work at Government Higher Secondary School, Chhabra. Similarly, an amount of ₹51.21 lakh was approved for football, boundary walls, and other work at Government Higher Secondary School, Chhipabarod. The department has spent the approved funds for both stadiums and completed these works.
