Strict Action Against Gangs Involved in Drug Trafficking, Launch Special Campaigns: Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma

The State View Jaipur (Sunil Sharma) Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that the strictest possible legal action should be taken against gangs involved in drug trafficking. He also directed the police and administration to launch special campaigns to make the state drug-free. The Chief Minister also gave special instructions to take stringent legal action against gangsters and hardcore criminals and impose effective control over them.

Chairing a high-level meeting of the Home Department at his residence on Tuesday, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that to eradicate the drug problem, the supply chain routes should be identified and kept under special surveillance. Strict vigilance and alertness should also be ensured in border areas.
Dismantle Networks from Small to Large Scale
Chief minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that action should be taken under a special action plan to break the networks of organized gangs involved in drug trafficking, and all networks, big and small, should be dismantled. For this, the police, Drug Controller, Health Department, and other agencies should make coordinated efforts. The Chief Minister also directed that effective legal proceedings be pursued against persons arrested in drug cases.
Launch Campaign Against Cybercrime
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that action against cybercrime should be a priority. In areas where cybercrime incidents are occurring, special campaigns should be launched against the gangs involved. These campaigns should continue until such crimes are completely eradicated from the respective areas.
Progress to be Monitored Every 10 Days
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma also said that due to the efforts of the state government, there has been a significant reduction in crime in the last two years. The Chief Minister said that drug abuse is the root cause of crime and has far-reaching negative effects on society and families. Therefore, awareness programs regarding the harmful effects of drug abuse should be promoted in schools and colleges. He said that the police should collaborate with social organizations to educate the public about the POCSO Act and other relevant laws.Chief Secretary V. Srinivas, Director General of Police Rajiv Kumar Sharma, and other senior police officers were present at the meeting. Inspectors General of Police and Superintendents of Police from various districts joined the meeting via video conference.
