Betraying the country through honeytrap and monetary greed; Jaisalmer youth falls into police net

The intelligence wing of the Rajasthan Police has achieved a major success in the Pokhran area of the border district of Jaisalmer. Police have arrested a local youth on charges of spying for the Pakistani intelligence agency (ISI). The accused was found to be involved in anti-national activities and sending confidential information of strategic importance related to the Indian Army across the border.

Additional Director General of Police Intelligence, Prafulla Kumar, while disclosing the matter, said that continuous monitoring is being done on the activities of Pakistani intelligence agencies in the state. During this time, intelligence received information that the activities of Jhabararam, son of Bhana Ram (28 years old), a resident of Nedan village under Sankra police station in Pokhran, were suspicious. Technical investigation revealed that the accused was constantly in contact with Pakistani handlers through social media.
*How Jhabararam fell into the ISI trap*
Interrogation and technical examination of the mobile phone revealed shocking details. The accused Jhabararam was lured by Pakistani agencies with a honeytrap and money. Falling for this temptation, he was sharing sensitive information related to the Indian Army. Not only this, he activated WhatsApp by giving the OTP of his SIM card to Pakistani handlers, which was being used to carry out anti-national activities.
ADG Kumar said that after the suspicion was confirmed, Jhabararam was brought to the Central Interrogation Center, Jaipur. Here, the Rajasthan Police, Military Intelligence, and other security agencies jointly interrogated him. Upon finding the crime proven, the Rajasthan Intelligence registered a case under the Official Secrets Act, 1923, and formally arrested him on Friday, January 30.
