Developed India-Jiramji Scheme: Not Just a Promise of Employment, but a Guarantee of Sustainable Livelihoods: Vijay Singh

Public hearing and night meeting held in village Basai, detailed information given on the provisions of ‘Developed India-Jiramji’

Minister of State for Revenue, Colonization and Sainik Kalyan Department and Kotputli-Behror District In-charge Minister Vijay Singh said that the ‘Developed India-Jiramji Scheme’ will bring about significant changes in rural life. He said that the ‘Developed India-Jiramji Scheme’ is not just a promise of employment, but a guarantee of sustainable livelihoods. This scheme will strengthen the foundation of a developed India by making rural India self-reliant. Mr. Singh was giving information about the provisions of the ‘Developed India-Jiramji Scheme’ during a public hearing and night meeting held in Basai village of Kotputli-Behror on Monday.

He said that the main objective of this scheme is to create a new framework for rural development in line with the national vision of Developed India-2047. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the central government has presented NREGA with new provisions, keeping the development of the poor, farmers and laborers at the center.

Minister Vijay Singh said that the main objective of the ‘Developed India-Jiramji Scheme’, launched with the goal of developing villages, is to address the shortcomings of NREGA, bring transparency to the system, effectively curb corruption, and digitize the scheme with the cooperation of the states.  It also aims to create developed Gram Panchayats, empower Gram Panchayats to prepare development plans according to their needs, and strengthen Gram Sabhas (village assemblies).

Minister Singh said that under the scheme, laborers will be provided 125 days of employment per year. The wages will be sent directly to their bank accounts within seven days, and if there is a delay of more than 15 days in payment, the laborers will be paid with interest. Under the scheme, a new rural employment guarantee card will be issued, which will be a strong and valid document for seeking work, receiving wages, and demanding their rights.  Under this initiative, skill development will also be given priority.

During this time, the minister in charge listened to the villagers’ problems and instructed the concerned officials. He said that there would be no shortage of facilities in the area. He directed that all the complaints received be resolved in a timely manner.

The Minister of State said that the state government is also working with commitment for the person at the last mile.  The villagers gave the minister a grand welcome.

In addition, during the night meeting, departmental officials provided detailed information about the central and state government schemes being implemented in their respective departments. This included information on schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (Prime Minister’s Crop Insurance Scheme), the fencing scheme, the water conservation public participation campaign, the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (Prime Minister’s Farmer’s Honorarium Scheme), farm ponds, Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural), Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana (Solar Home Free Electricity Scheme), Chief Minister’s Ayushman Arogya Yojana, Lado Protsahan Yojana (Girl Child Encouragement Scheme), TB-Free Gram Panchayat Campaign, and other schemes related to women and youth.
