
11 Cases of Electricity Theft Detected in Kanota and Sanganer, Fines of Rs. 18 Lakh Imposed

The vigilance branch of Jaipur Discom detected 11 cases of electricity theft in the Kanota area on Friday and in the Sanganer area on Thursday, imposing fines of approximately Rs. 18 lakh. Additional Superintendent of Police (Vigilance) Mahendra Kumar Sharma and Superintending Engineer (Vigilance) B.L. Sharma stated that an inspection was conducted at a brick kiln in Jeetawala, Kanota, where electricity was being stolen by illegally connecting a parallel cable to the corporation’s LT line. A violation report was filed, and a fine of Rs. 5.72 lakh was imposed. During the same operation, electricity theft was also found in five residential premises on Sabaria Road in Kanota, including Gayatri Enclave, Siddhi Vinayak Extension, Angan Vihar, and Deva ki Dhani. Violation reports were filed, and a fine of Rs. 3.98 lakh was imposed.

Similarly, on Thursday, vigilance checks were conducted at five different premises in the Sanganer area. Four domestic and one non-domestic consumer were found to be stealing electricity by directly connecting illegal wires from the pole, bypassing the meter. A total fine of Rs. 8.31 lakh was imposed on these consumers. The connections were disconnected, and the meters and cables were seized.
