Jaiprakash alias J.P., a fugitive with a standing arrest warrant for four years, nabbed by ACB; accused of conspiring to cause the government a loss of crores

Jaipur: In a significant breakthrough regarding the fake medical pensioner diary scam, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Jaiprakash alias J.P.—an accused against whom a standing arrest warrant had been pending for a long time—from Khedli in Alwar district. The accused faces serious allegations of causing financial loss to the state government by getting fake medical pensioner diaries printed and amassing illegal gains through a criminal conspiracy.
ACB Director General Govind Gupta stated that the investigation prima facie revealed that the accused, Jaiprakash alias J.P., in collusion with his father Udaychand Sharma and brother Bhupendra Sharma, had fake medical pensioner diaries printed at ‘Mohan Offset Printers’ in Khedli. These diaries were used to misuse the government system, causing undue financial loss to the state government, while the accused secured financial and other illicit benefits for themselves.
The investigation further revealed that Jaiprakash alias J.P. is the brother of Bhupendra Sharma, the alleged mastermind behind this entire fraud, while his father, Udaychand Sharma, has already been arrested by the ACB in connection with the case. A standing arrest warrant had been issued by the court against Jaiprakash, who had been absconding for a long period.
The ACB arrested the accused from Khedli on Tuesday in compliance with the standing warrant issued by the Hon’ble Special Judge, Prevention of Corruption Act Court (No. 3), Jaipur Metropolitan. Prima facie, offenses have been established against the accused under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and various serious sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC)—specifically Sections 420, 467, 468, 471, 477-A, 409, and 120-B. This operation was successfully executed under the supervision of ACB Additional Director General Smita Srivastava, Deputy Inspector General Dr. Rameshwar Singh, and Additional Superintendent of Police Prashant Kaushik, and led by Police Inspector Archana Meena. The arrested accused is being produced before the court for further legal proceedings.
