Addressing the nation in the 135th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered inspiring messages on various significant topics, including science, a self-reliant India (*Atmanirbhar Bharat*), environmental conservation, cultural heritage, social security, innovation, and public participation. The Prime Minister stated that the country’s greatest strength lies in its 1.4 billion citizens, and when society moves forward with resolve, even the most significant transformations become possible. Highlighting India’s growing strategic strength and self-reliance in the defense sector, the Prime Minister mentioned indigenous warships recently inducted into the Indian Navy, such as INS Dunagiri, INS Sanshodhak, and INS Agray. He cited the achievements of the DRDO and the successful test-firing of the Long-Range Land-Attack Cruise Missile as symbols of India’s scientific prowess. The Prime Minister noted that India is scaling new heights in the defense sector and advancing rapidly towards self-reliance. Mentioning achievements in the aviation sector, he stated that the ‘Make in India’ C-295 aircraft project is giving a new identity to the country’s aerospace sector; manufacturing these aircraft in India will not only strengthen technological self-reliance but also create new opportunities for MSMEs and local industries. Referring to the historic success of International Yoga Day,
the Prime Minister shared that the occasion was celebrated with great enthusiasm at over 2,500 locations worldwide. He praised India’s spectacular performance at the World Yogasana Championship held in Ahmedabad, noting that Indian athletes brought glory to the nation by winning 114 medals, including 102 gold medals. He also commended the enthusiastic participation of citizens in initiatives such as the ‘Vocal for Local’ campaign, the purchase of indigenous products, natural and chemical-free farming, carpooling, and environmental conservation. The Prime Minister stated that the pace of nation-building accelerates manifold when citizens themselves shoulder responsibility. Highlighting social security schemes, he noted that the *Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana* offers accident insurance cover of up to ₹2 lakh for an annual premium of just ₹20; approximately 58 crore people are enrolled in this scheme, and over ₹3,700 crore in assistance has reached the beneficiaries. Similarly, under the *Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana*, life insurance cover of ₹2 lakh is provided for an annual premium of ₹436; around 27 crore people are associated with this scheme, and 11 lakh families have received financial assistance totaling ₹22,000 crore. Citing an inspiring family from Maharashtra’s Nanded district, the Prime Minister highlighted how they set an exemplary precedent of social responsibility by arranging accident insurance for the entire village, describing them as a source of inspiration for society. Conveying a message of environmental conservation, he praised the efforts of Purnima Devi Barman, a renowned biologist from Assam, in conserving the rare *Hargila* (Greater Adjutant Stork). He also commended the efforts to include Meghalaya’s living root bridges in the UNESCO World Heritage network, describing them as a remarkable example of harmony between nature and humanity. Furthermore, he mentioned that Shri Hally Warjri, who has cared for these root bridges for 50 years, was honored with a Padma Award this year.
The Prime Minister described the initiative taken by citizens in Madhya Pradesh’s Rajgarh district to beautify public spaces using repurposed plastic waste as an example worthy of emulation by the entire country.
He urged people to adopt eco-friendly clay idols of Lord Ganesha for the upcoming festival, thereby reinforcing the ‘Vocal for Local’ message. Praising initiatives like Nagaland’s Baby League Football and the Nagaland Women’s Futsal League, he noted that sports are becoming an effective medium for social change. Emphasizing innovation and research, the Prime Minister highlighted the new campus of Nalanda University, stating that India’s ancient tradition of intellectual discourse (*shastrarth*) is being revived there in a modern context. He also mentioned that the Central Sanskrit University is launching B.Tech programs in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, representing a perfect blend of Indian knowledge traditions and modern technology. The Prime Minister also spoke about the efforts of people of Indian origin in Dominica (Caribbean region) who are promoting Indian culture and enhancing the prestige of Indian traditions and Vedic culture abroad. Concluding his address, he called for transforming water conservation into a mass movement, urging everyone to advance the ‘Catch the Rain’ campaign, practice rainwater harvesting, and pledge to save every drop of water. He stated that water conservation is the greatest responsibility towards future generations. On this occasion, BJP State President Madan Rathore listened to the Prime Minister’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program alongside party workers and local citizens at the Shyopur Mandal in Pratap Nagar, located within the Sanganer Assembly constituency of Jaipur. Meanwhile, BJP State General Secretary (Organization) Ajey Kumar participated in a program held at Booth No. 131 in Civil Lines. Across the state—including the BJP state office—party officials, public representatives, and workers listened to the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program collectively at the booth level and pledged to take the Prime Minister’s message to the masses. State President Madan Rathore remarked that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ is not merely a radio program but a campaign for nation-building through public participation. This program… It has become an effective medium for connecting people with science, innovation, culture, the environment, social responsibility, and the resolve for a self-reliant India. He called upon the workers to transform every message delivered by the Prime Minister into a mass movement and take it to the last person in society, thereby accelerating the journey towards the goal of a developed India.
