They preserve the treasure trove of our ancestors’ experiences, research, and knowledge. A manuscript not only tells the story of the past, but also opens new avenues for future generations.

Diya Kumari said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the “Gyan Bharatam Mission” is combining this commitment with new technology. Modi’s vision is that our ancient knowledge should not remain confined to shelves, but should reach the world through modern technology and become the strength of a developed India. The Prime Minister’s vision is being realized under the guidance of Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.

Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari said that under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, continuous efforts are being made to preserve manuscripts in Rajasthan. Under the campaign, approximately 2.3 million manuscripts from government and private collections, libraries, temples, monasteries, etc. have been surveyed, of which approximately 124,000 have been digitized.

To this end, conservation centers will be developed at the district level, and private collectors will also be involved in this mission.

Chief Secretary V. Srinivas stated that ancient texts and documents are important cultural heritage of the country, and the Gyan Bharatam Mission is an important initiative in this direction. Rajasthan has a rich history and civilization. To further enhance the mission’s success, Sanskrit departments from all universities should be involved in the conservation of palm leaves and the creation of Sanskrit terminology. He urged for better coordination between all departments and encouragement of youth to pursue research in this field. If the knowledge hidden in manuscripts is easily accessible through technology, it will give a new global identity to the knowledge tradition of not only Rajasthan but the entire country.
