ACB takes major action against corruption in Bharatpur, ASI arrested while accepting bribe of 15,000 rupees

Jaipur/Bharatpur. The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of the Bharatpur Police Department red-handed while accepting a bribe of 15,000 rupees. The accused, ASI Govind Meena, is posted at Atalbandh Police Station, Bharatpur district. It is alleged that he demanded a bribe of 30,000 rupees in exchange for taking action in two cases filed by the complainant’s father.

According to the ACB, the complainant complained that the accused was harassing him and demanding bribes in the name of taking action in both cases. The complaint was verified, and after confirming the bribery demand, a trap was planned.

*Caught after receiving the first installment*

Under the supervision of Deputy Inspector General of Police Om Prakash Meena, ACB Range Bharatpur, and the direction of Additional Superintendent of Police Amit Singh, a team was formed under the leadership of Police Inspector Mahendra Singh. On September 1st, the team took action and arrested ASI Govind Meena red-handed while accepting the first installment of a bribe of Rs. 15,000 from the complainant.

Interrogation and Investigation Ongoing

Under the supervision of ACB Additional Director General of Police Smita Srivastava and Inspector General of Police S. Parimala, the interrogation of the accused and further investigation are ongoing. The ACB has registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act and initiated the investigation.

The ACB has also informed the public that if a case of charge, preliminary investigation, or other matter is registered against any person in the ACB, they can contact the ACB directly to submit their side of the story or clarification. According to the ACB, further investigation decisions are made only after a detailed analysis of the submitted explanation.  This information is important for those who may be victims of fraud in the name of the ACB.
