Jaipur’s roads will change

Jaipur. To realize Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma’s vision of a “Developed Rajasthan,” the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) has prepared an ambitious plan to make the capital city safer, more convenient, and citizen-centric. Under this plan, suitable public spaces along the city’s major roads will be developed into attractive, multipurpose public spaces equipped with modern amenities. This initiative aims to establish Jaipur as a more pedestrian-friendly, environmentally friendly, and livable city.
According to the JDA, priority will be given to areas with high population density and a large number of pedestrians daily. These spaces will be developed in accordance with local needs and modern urban standards, ensuring safe and better public amenities for citizens.
The public spaces developed under the plan will feature comfortable seating, attractive landscaping, safe and accessible walkways, modern kiosks, LED lighting, green spaces, and other essential civic amenities. Furthermore, all spaces will be designed to be disabled-friendly, clean, safe, and comply with environmental standards.
The JDA believes that this initiative will not be limited to infrastructure construction, but will also transform the city’s streets into vibrant hubs of social and community activities. This will provide citizens with quality public spaces, promote a culture of walking, revitalize local business and economic activities, and significantly enhance Jaipur’s urban aesthetics.
Public spaces will be selected based on a detailed study of pedestrian traffic, population density, land use, and local needs, ensuring that each space is developed in accordance with its surroundings and the needs of its citizens.
This JDA initiative is considered a significant step towards realizing the concept of “People-Centric Streets” and “Complete Streets.” Through this initiative, the capital’s streets will be transformed from being limited to vehicular traffic to safe, convenient, attractive, and vibrant public spaces for pedestrians, senior citizens, children, and people of all walks of life. This project will be a significant step towards a smart, inclusive, and modern Jaipur of the future.
