Jaipur. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma stated that farmers constitute the soul of the nation. In their honor, the illustrious Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, has transferred the 22nd installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi into the accounts of millions of farming families. This includes over 66.76 lakh farmers from Rajasthan, who have received a total amount exceeding ₹1,355 crore. He affirmed that the government stands firmly with farmers in every circumstance.
On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the event in Guwahati, Assam, marking the transfer of the 22nd installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, as well as the *Bhoomi Pujan* (groundbreaking) and inauguration ceremonies for various development projects. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma joined this event via video conferencing from the State Institute of Agricultural Management in Durgapura, where he also listened to the Prime Minister’s address.
Continuing in this vein, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma remarked in his own address that farmers have always remained a top priority for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Over the past few years, under his leadership, a fresh perspective has been infused into policies concerning farmers. Farmers are now recognized as a source of strength for the nation. He added that it is the Prime Minister’s firm resolve to ensure that India’s farmers become prosperous. To this end, numerous schemes have been formulated, with the *Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi* scheme standing out as a flagship initiative.
*Insurance Claims Worth ₹6,473 Crore Distributed Under the Crop Insurance Scheme*
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma asserted that the State Government is working with absolute commitment to safeguard the interests of farmers and ensure their welfare. In line with this objective, the *Chief Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi* scheme has been implemented within the state, under which eligible farmers receive an additional honorarium of ₹3,000 annually from the State Government. He stated that the State Government is firmly committed to increasing the amount of this honorarium in a phased manner, eventually raising it up to ₹12,000. Under the Crop Insurance Scheme, compensation for crop damage is currently being provided at a rate higher than that offered by the previous government. To date, insurance claims amounting to ₹6,473 crore have been disbursed across the state under this scheme.
*Agricultural Budget Set at ₹1,19,408 Crore for the Year 2026-27*
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma announced that, with the welfare of farmers at the forefront of its agenda, his government has allocated an agricultural budget of ₹1,19,408 crore for the year 2026-27—marking a historic increase of 34% compared to the final year (2023-24) of the previous administration. Meanwhile, under the Chief Minister Mangala Livestock Insurance Scheme, free insurance policies have been issued for over 1.6 million livestock animals to date, and claims are being continuously disbursed to policyholders. He further noted that 536 mobile veterinary units are currently providing services in villages. Under the Rajasthan Cooperative Gopal Credit Card Scheme, livestock rearers are being provided with interest-free loans of up to ₹100,000. So far, loans exceeding ₹682 crore have been disbursed under this scheme.
*Rajasthan Leads the Way in the ‘Sahakar Se Samriddhi’ (Prosperity through Cooperation) Initiative*
The Chief Minister stated that Rajasthan is a leading state in the country in effectively implementing initiatives under the ‘Sahakar se Samriddhi’ (Prosperity through Cooperation) program. In this context, under the Grain Storage Scheme, the construction of warehouses with a capacity of 500 metric tons has been completed across the state. The budget for the year 2026-27 also includes provisions for the construction of 50 additional warehouses, each with a capacity of 500 metric tons. Meanwhile, storage capacity is continuously increasing through the construction of new warehouses with capacities of 250 and 100 metric tons, as well as the renovation of existing facilities.
*Farmers Receive Interest-Free Short-Term Crop Loans Exceeding ₹50,000 Crore*
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma announced that the state government has provisioned an additional bonus of ₹150 on the procurement of wheat at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). To date, interest-free short-term crop loans totaling over ₹50,000 crore have been provided to more than 7.8 million farmers. Farmers across 22 districts of Rajasthan are now receiving electricity during the daytime. Our government has provided subsidies amounting to ₹50,833 crore on electricity bills and has issued over 200,000 new agricultural power connections. He further stated that short-term loans totaling ₹25,000 crore will be distributed to 3.5 million farmers. An interest subvention of ₹800 crore has been allocated for this purpose. Additionally, subsidies exceeding ₹585 crore will be provided to approximately 80,000 farmers for the construction of *diggis* (water storage tanks), irrigation pipelines, and farm ponds.
*₹2,648 Crore in Subsidies Provided to Gaushalas (Cow Shelters) So Far*
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma highlighted that, with the aim of making farmers self-reliant in the solar energy sector, 59,000 solar pumps have been installed, for which subsidies totaling ₹921 crore have been provided. Pursuing the objective of achieving higher yields with minimal water usage, drip and sprinkler irrigation systems have been installed across 211,000 hectares of land. A subsidy of ₹888 crore has been provided for this initiative. He stated that ₹490 crore has been spent on the construction of *diggis* (water reservoirs) and farm ponds in agricultural fields. Furthermore, by increasing the grant for *Gaushalas* (cow shelters) by 25 percent, a total grant of ₹2,648 crore has been disbursed to date.
*Significant Initiatives Taken to Double Farmers’ Income and Reduce Costs*
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma stated that, in alignment with the Prime Minister’s vision, numerous significant initiatives have been undertaken across the country to double farmers’ income and reduce their operational costs. He noted that Prime Minister Modi, on the very first day of his third term in office, approved the release of the *Kisan Samman Nidhi* (Farmers’ Honor Fund)—a move that underscores his unwavering priority for farmer welfare and service.
*73 Percent of Manifesto Pledges Fulfilled*
The Chief Minister affirmed that necessary steps have been taken regarding various water projects for farmers, including the *Ramjal Setu* Link Project and the Yamuna Water Accord. He highlighted that his government has accomplished more for farmer welfare in just two and a quarter years than the previous government did during its entire five-year tenure. Moreover, 73 percent of the pledges outlined in the election manifesto have been successfully fulfilled. He further pointed out that a large number of women in rural areas are engaged in animal husbandry; consequently, the state government is providing a subsidy of ₹5 per liter on milk.
*Appointments Made to Over 1.25 Lakh Posts So Far*
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma stated that, under the leadership of the Prime Minister, dedicated efforts are being made for the welfare of the poor, the youth, the farmers (*Annadata*), and women. He contrasted the current situation with that under the previous government, noting that while paper leaks were a recurring issue in the past, not a single paper leak has occurred during his administration’s tenure. He mentioned that during the Prime Minister’s visit to Ajmer, appointment letters were distributed to over 21,000 youths. To date, appointments have been made to over 1.25 lakh posts across the state, while recruitment processes for another 1.35 lakh posts are currently underway. He also announced the release of a recruitment calendar for the year 2026, which targets filling 1.25 lakh posts—an increase from the previously projected 1 lakh posts. Agriculture Minister Dr. Kirodi Lal Meena stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma are working for the welfare of farmers, women, youth, and the poor. Prime Minister Modi is providing the ‘Kisan Samman Nidhi’ (Farmers’ Honor Fund). In line with this initiative, the Chief Minister has also taken steps to provide an honorarium of ₹3,000 to the farmers of the state; consequently, the total financial assistance received from both the Central and State governments now amounts to ₹9,000.
Minister of State for Cooperatives (Independent Charge), Gautam Kumar Dak, remarked that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has undertaken numerous initiatives in the interest of farmers over the past 12 years. These include significant measures such as doubling farmers’ incomes and increasing the Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for various crops. He further added that, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, work is currently underway on several key projects aimed at ensuring the availability of water for irrigation to the state’s farmers.
Present on this occasion were Chief Secretary V. Srinivas, Principal Secretary for Agriculture and Horticulture Manju Rajpal, along with other senior officials and a large gathering of farmers.
