Extensive preparations underway for vaccination in the state
One thousand health institutions identified
188 vaccination sessions held on the first day

Jaipur. In a significant initiative to protect women from cervical cancer, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched the nationwide HPV (Human Papillomavirus) vaccination campaign from Ajmer. Under this campaign, girls in the eligible age group will be administered the HPV vaccine, effectively reducing the risk of cervical cancer in the future. Extensive preparations have also been made for the vaccination drive in the state. On the first day of the campaign, 188 vaccination sessions were held across the state.
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma appealed to parents to enroll their daughters in this important vaccination campaign and ensure a future safe from cervical cancer. This campaign is a concrete and far-reaching step towards women’s health empowerment.
Medical and Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khinvsar stated that, as directed by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, this vaccination will be administered as a single dose to girls who have completed 14 years of age but have not yet completed 15 years of age. He stated that cervical cancer is the second most common cancer among women in India. A comprehensive vaccination program has been planned in the state to prevent this serious disease.
Principal Secretary of the Medical and Health Department, Gayatri Rathore, stated that more than 832,000 girls are eligible for this campaign. The vaccination program uses a quadrivalent vaccine called Gardasil-4, which will be administered intramuscularly in the left upper arm as a 0.5 ml dose. 1,000 health institutions across all districts of Rajasthan have been identified for HPV vaccination.
Mission Director of National Health Mission, Dr. Amit Yadav informed that health institutions with functional cold chain points, dedicated medical officers and internet connectivity have been selected for HPV vaccination across the state. A dedicated team comprising vaccinators, verifiers, mobilizers and volunteers will be deployed at each vaccination site. Training of ANMs, ASHAs, verifiers and mobilizers has been completed at the state, district and health institution level to ensure effective conduct of the campaign.
