If you regularly travel by train from Jawai Dam Railway Station in Sumerpur or the surrounding area of Pali district, it is very important for you to know that the name of this railway station has now been changed to Sumerpur-Jawai Dam. To avoid any confusion during travel and ticket booking, please note the new name of this railway station immediately. Naveen Jain, Principal Secretary of the General Administration Department, Government of Rajasthan, has issued a notification in this regard. Following the consent of the Under Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, the General Administration Department has issued approval for the modification of the name of Jawai Dam Railway Station. Meanwhile, on Saturday, Cabinet Minister Joraram Kumawat, MLA from Sumerpur constituency and Minister of Animal Husbandry, Cow Rearing, Dairy and Devasthan Department, Government of Rajasthan, received an unprecedented welcome from local residents for his efforts in getting the railway station’s name changed. Cabinet Minister Joraram Kumawat was warmly welcomed at his residence in Sumerpur during his visit to Pali district.It is noteworthy that local residents and several public representatives had been making efforts for a long time to change the name of this railway station. The residents of Sumerpur had submitted memorandums to Pali MP PP Chaudhary and local MLA Joraram Kumawat. Following this, Cabinet Minister Joraram Kumawat apprised Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw about the matter, after which orders for the name change were issued.
