Under the Rajasthan government’s ambitious Senior Citizen Pilgrimage Scheme-2025, a special train departed from Hanumangarh Junction on Tuesday for Dwarka-Nageshwar-Somnath. The train was flagged off by Shri Prahlad Rai Tak, Chairman of the Shri Yade Mati Kala Board, Rajasthan.  Devasthan Department Cabinet Minister Joraram Kumawat informed that 167 passengers from Sri Ganganagar district and 133 from Hanumangarh district boarded the train at Hanumangarh Junction railway station. He further added that, in addition, 350 passengers from Bikaner railway station and 320 passengers from Bhagat Ki Kothi railway station in Jodhpur, making a total of 970 senior citizens, will visit these famous pilgrimage sites in the country. The train will return to Hanumangarh on February 1st.  A train in-charge, two instructors in each coach, a doctor, and two nursing staff have also been sent along with the passengers for their care. This special train is fully air-conditioned. All arrangements have been made by the Devasthan Department through IRCTC. Food, accommodation, and all other facilities are being provided to the passengers free of charge.  Addressing the program, Shri Prahlad Rai Tak, Chairman of the Shriyade Mati Kala Board, said that the state government is giving top priority to social concerns. Senior citizens are the heritage of society, and for them, pilgrimage is an experience deeply connected to lifelong faith and devotion.

The government is ensuring that our elders can complete their religious journeys in a safe, respectful, and pleasant environment. This is why our Chief Minister, Bhajanlal Sharma, is acting like Shravan Kumar, taking elderly parents on pilgrimages. He said that recently, our country’s illustrious Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, laid the foundation stone for the renovation work of the Somnath Temple, and it is a matter of great fortune for us that the first contingent from Rajasthan has departed today to visit this important pilgrimage site. Tak further added that the central and state governments are working on various fronts to protect, promote, and revive Sanatan Dharma and its cultural heritage. This is primarily being done through the renovation of religious sites, promoting cultural pride, and managing religious affairs. In this regard, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and Devasthan Minister Joraram Kumawat are also working to promote Sanatan Dharma by facilitating pilgrimages for senior citizens of the state to major pilgrimage sites across the country.

Assistant Commissioner of the Devasthan Department, Omprakash, informed that BJP leader Amit Sahu, BJP spokesperson Ashish Parik, former Mandal President Hakam Singh Gill, BJP leader Vijay Kaushik, Inspector Grade I of the Devasthan Department Shweta Chaudhary, and Assistant Accounts Officer Ajay Dhuriya were present on the occasion. The program was conducted by Bhishma Kaushik.
