Deputy Chief Minister Holds Review Meeting of Higher and Technical Education Department

Ensure Quality Higher and Technical Education for the State’s Students: Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Premchand Bairwa

Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Premchand Bairwa held a review meeting of the Higher and Technical Education Department at the State Secretariat on Tuesday. He said that the state government is continuously striving to ensure quality higher and technical education for the students of the state. In the meeting, he instructed the officials to further strengthen the state’s higher and technical education system. Dr. Bairwa reviewed the progress of the Swami Vivekananda Scholarship for Academic Excellence Scheme 2025-26 and instructed that the benefits of this scheme should reach as many eligible students as possible in a timely manner.

The Deputy Chief Minister reviewed the progress of various scholarship schemes of the department and instructed that pending applications be processed expeditiously. He clarified that no student should be deprived of quality education due to financial reasons. During this time, he reviewed the status of various departmental budget announcements and gave necessary directions. He said that various construction works should be completed within the stipulated time so that students can benefit from the facilities soon.

Additional Chief Secretary, Higher and Technical Education, Kuldeep Ranka informed that the state government has started reading rooms in 268 colleges to facilitate the preparation of various examinations for the youth of the state. He informed that college buildings are being constructed in various districts of the state. Mr. Ranka said that continuous effective work is being done to encourage girls in the field of education. In addition, more than Rs. 29.13 crore has been sanctioned for the construction and repair work of buildings of 47 government colleges. Administrative and financial approval has been issued for the construction of college buildings in Bhinai-Ajmer, Ramgarh-Alwar and Dungarpur, and further action is being taken. In the meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Bairwa reviewed the updated status of departmental recruitment processes, the National Higher Education Campaign and the Prime Minister’s Higher Education Campaign, and the progress of various scholarship schemes including the Kalibai Bhil Meritorious and Devnarayan Girls’ Scooty Scheme, and issued necessary directives. Officials from the Higher and Technical Education Department were present at the meeting.
