Discussion held between Rajasthan Police and representatives of oil companies regarding the security of oil and gas assets in Rajasthan

A crucial meeting of the Onshore Security Coordination Committee, constituted with the objective of further strengthening the security of critical oil and gas assets located in the state and establishing better coordination between the police and representatives of oil companies, was held on Monday under the chairmanship of Director General of Police, Rajasthan and Chairman of the Committee, Rajiv Kumar Sharma. This committee includes representatives from the police, ONGC, IOCL, HPCL, BPCL, and all other oil companies.

In his presidential address, Director General of Police Rajiv Kumar Sharma emphasized the need for all oil companies to establish continuous and effective coordination with the local administration and police for the quick resolution of related problems. He said that real-time reporting is essential for the effective resolution of any security-related challenge. He also directed the creation of a robust and updated database of criminals involved in oil theft and the presentation of a comprehensive overview of the oil pipeline infrastructure across the country and the state. Instructions were also given to ensure timely compliance with the decisions and suggestions made during the meeting.

In his address, DG (Law and Order) Sanjay Agarwal suggested developing a digital portal for the systematic maintenance of information by oil companies and mapping the available resources. He also emphasized the need to appoint a state-level nodal officer for all oil companies.

*Discussion on several important topics:*
During the meeting, senior police officers and company representatives presented detailed information on various topics through PowerPoint presentations. Information was also provided regarding the mock drills conducted by various oil companies.  The meeting also discussed topics such as the Vigilant Watchman Incentive Scheme, joint patrolling with the police, police roadblocks, checkpoints, and regular security coordination meetings, SOPs for drone threats, declaration of no-drone zones, and the restructuring of the Rajasthan Onshore Security Coordination Committee.

*Honoring Police Officers and Personnel:*

During the meeting, all the representatives of the oil companies, in their feedback, appreciated the cooperation received from the police and the district administration. IOCL and HPCL specifically praised the Rajasthan Police for the swift detection of oil theft incidents from pipelines and the arrest of the main accused.  On this occasion, several officers and personnel of the Rajasthan Police were honored with certificates of appreciation by DGP Rajiv Kumar Sharma on behalf of the oil companies.
The meeting was attended by Ajay Dixit, Executive Director of ONGC and Chief Security and Coordinator of OSCC, ADG (Law and Order) V.K. Singh, ADG SOG Vishal Bansal, ADG ATS Dinesh MN, ADG Crime Hawasingh Ghumaria, several IGP and SP level officers, representatives from DGH (Directorate General of Hydrocarbons), Department of Mines and Petroleum, Government of Rajasthan, senior officers from various oil companies including HPCL, BPCL, IOCL, GAIL, Cairn Vedanta Limited, Oil India Limited, and senior officers and representatives from police, intelligence, and security agencies.
