Deeg. In view of the upcoming Urban Local Bodies General Elections 2026, public awareness activities were organized across the district as part of the Voter Awareness Campaign. Through mock polling booths in schools, public awareness rallies, attractive rangoli, and a Women’s Power Awareness Conference, the campaign conveyed the message to women, youth, and future voters to play an active role in this grand festival of democracy.
As part of the SWEEP activities, a live demonstration of a mock polling booth was conducted at the Government Higher Secondary School, Gudavali, to provide students with a practical introduction to the electoral system and voting process. During this event, students played the roles of presiding officers, first and second polling officers, and voters, demonstrating step-by-step the entire process of voter identity verification, indelible ink marking, and secret balloting in the voting booth. Meanwhile, at the Government Higher Secondary School, Ajau Kumher, students and teachers organized a voter awareness rally, encouraging villagers to cast their votes on Election Day. To ensure 100% participation of women in voter awareness, students at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Kumher, decorated beautiful rangoli and conveyed the message to women to exercise their right to vote without any temptation or fear.
In the same vein, a Women’s Awareness Conference was held on Monday at the Higher Secondary Adarsh Vidya Mandir, Brijnagar, under the auspices of the Voter Literacy Club. Women present at the conference and new voters who had reached the age of 18 were urged to play a leading role in empowering democracy with the inspiring message, “You have crossed the age of 18, you are a partner in forming the government; cast your precious vote; do not miss this first opportunity.” Addressing the women, Principal Nandram Sharma and ELC in-charge Sanjay Singh Sain said that a strong and aware woman can guide the entire family and society in the right direction. Therefore, they should ensure that they vote themselves and take every member of their family to the polling booth. At the end of the program, the women and participants were sworn in to vote impartially and fearlessly.
