Rajasthan Police takes major action against international cyber slavery gang: Another accused arrested in Sikar, bringing the total number of arrests to nine

Jaipur. The Rajasthan Police’s State Cyber Crime Station has taken a major action against an international cyber slavery and cyber fraud network, arresting another accused in Sikar. This brings the total number of arrests in this organized gang to nine. This action was taken as part of a special campaign against cyber criminals being conducted on the instructions of Director General of Police Rajiv Kumar Sharma. Additional Director General of Police (Cyber Crime) Vijay Kumar Singh stated that the accused, Mohammad Saddam Ansari alias Jerry, was arrested in Sikar based on information received from the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), technical analysis, and digital evidence.

*Role of the arrested accused Saddam alias Jerry*

1. In 2023, the accused contacted an alleged agent, Mubarik Khan, a resident of Rolsabsar. The agent promised him a job at a shopping mall in Cambodia, took ₹40,000 in cash, provided him with an electronic visa and air tickets. On October 31, 2023, Mohammad Saddam traveled to Cambodia from Jaipur with three of his associates, Anil, Pankaj, and Rashid.

2. He worked for a company in Poipet, Cambodia. Due to eye problems, he was unable to work on a computer for long periods of time. He was then assigned to oversee the office and deliver food and blankets to employees. He began performing HR-related duties, earning a monthly salary of approximately US$800.

3. Employees at the company were referred to by nicknames instead of their real names.  Approximately 200 people were employed there, a large number of whom were from the Beawar region of Rajasthan, while some employees were also from Sikar and Kerala.

4. In January and February 2024, he also invited several other individuals to Cambodia for jobs, for which the company charged a commission of US$300 per person. The individuals involved were charged ₹30,000 each for sending them abroad.

5. Mohammad Saddam went to Cambodia on three separate occasions and stayed there for approximately two years.

*Contact with foreign handler while in India*

Investigation has also revealed that some of the accused associated with the gang remained in contact with the Chinese handler, Atai, on WhatsApp through Cambodian numbers even after returning to India. It is alleged that they were preparing to send newcomers to Cambodia by luring them with lucrative job offers..

*Intensive investigation of digital evidence continues*

Police stated that scientific examination of the digital and documentary evidence recovered in the case is ongoing. Investigations are ongoing to identify, arrest, and investigate the financial transactions of other members of this network involved in international cyber slavery, human trafficking, and crypto investment fraud. Other state investigative agencies are also interrogating the accused.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Cyber Crime Sumit Meharda and the leadership of DSP/SHO Gajendra Sharma. The team included Assistant Sub-Inspector Brijlal Saini, Constables Dharmendra and Rohitash Kumar from the Cyber Crime Police Station, Constable Chak Plug Avinash from the CID-CB, along with ASIs Tarachand, Deendayal, Constables Bhagirath, Ashok Kumar, Bajrang Singh, and Mahipal Singh from Sikar.
