Jaipur. Former Congress Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has accused the BJP government of bias in budget allocation for road construction works. The Congress says that during his tenure, his government treated all assembly constituencies in the state equally, announcing a budget of ₹10 crore for road development for each assembly constituency, regardless of the party’s MLA.

Ashok Gehlot alleged that the current BJP government had announced ₹2,000 crore for all assembly constituencies in the budget, but only areas with BJP MLAs were given priority in actual approvals.

According to Ashok Gehlot, a clear example of this has been seen in Sikar district.  In the district’s BJP-ruled Dhod, Khandela, and Srimadhopur assembly constituencies, 38 road projects worth ₹31.18 crore were approved, while the Laxmangarh, Sikar, Fatehpur, Danta Ramgarh, and Neemkathana assembly constituencies, which have Congress MLAs, received no approval.

Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot alleged that the BJP government was distributing development projects on political grounds, contrary to democratic principles. The party demanded that the Chief Minister take cognizance of the matter and issue instructions to ensure equal and fair treatment for all assembly constituencies.
