Issues Essential Directives Regarding Heatwave Management and HPV Vaccination for Girls

On Tuesday, Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Jugal Kishore Saini inspected the Government Community Health Center (CHC) at Rol, the Primary Health Center (PHC) at Borwa, and the Sub-Health Center at Athiyasan to take stock of the medical arrangements.
During the inspection, Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Saini reviewed the availability of medicines, sanitation arrangements, drinking water supply, electricity supply, patient amenities, record-keeping, and staff attendance at the hospitals.

In view of the prevailing heat and heatwave conditions, he issued directives to ensure the smooth availability of essential medicines, ORS, drinking water, cooling rooms, and emergency treatment facilities at the medical institutions. Additionally, he instructed the staff to conduct awareness-raising activities among the general public regarding protection against heatstroke. While reviewing the progress of the HPV vaccination campaign for girls up to the age of 15, Dr. Jugal Kishore Saini directed the medical staff to visit schools to educate girls and parents about the importance of the HPV vaccine and to ensure 100% vaccination coverage for all eligible girls. He emphasized that this vaccine plays a crucial role in the prevention of cervical cancer. During the inspection, he also issued directives to ensure the effective implementation of routine immunization programs, institutional deliveries, maternal and child health services, laboratory testing, medicine distribution, Janani Suraksha Yojana (Maternity Protection Scheme), and patient-centric services. Furthermore, he instructed the staff to ensure the timely operation of OPD services, maintain a sensitive and empathetic approach toward patients, and ensure the prompt redressal of grievances. In addition to these visits, the Chief Medical and Health Officer also toured the Government Senior Secondary School in Didia Kalan. There, he interacted with the school staff and students to raise awareness regarding HPV vaccination and encouraged as many girls as possible to get vaccinated. He stated that this campaign would be made a success through effective coordination between the Health and Education Departments
