Deputy Commissioner of Police (Jaipur East), Ranjita Sharma (IPS), stated that instructions had been issued to take immediate action and apprehend those hosting late-night parties in cafés within the Jaipur East district.
To immediately apprehend those hosting or attending parties in illegal café setups, a team was constituted under the direction of Alok Singhal (Additional DCP, Jaipur East) and the supervision of Vinod Sharma (Assistant Commissioner of Police, Malviya Nagar), led by Mahesh Chand (SHO, Jawahar Circle Police Station). Through continuous patrolling and surveillance, the team took action against those involved in hosting or attending parties at illegal café setups; similar action will continue to be taken against such offenders in the future.
*Details of the Incident*
On June 17, 2026, a reliable informant reported that ‘3D Restaurant & Bar’ (located in the UDB Building, JLN Marg, under the jurisdiction of Jawahar Circle Police Station, Jaipur) was serving hookah to customers alongside food and beverages. Acting on this information, Sub-Inspector Shyam Prakash was instructed to immediately visit the site, verify the facts, and take appropriate action. Sub-Inspector (SI) Shyam Prakash, accompanied by his team, arrived at ‘3D Restaurant and Bar’. Upon entering and inspecting the premises, he found an individual serving hookah—using a *chilam* (bowl) containing tobacco-based flavor—to young men seated on sofas at the tables. Seven hookahs, seven pipes, and seven *chilams* were found on the tables; the *chilams* contained burning coals placed over foil paper that held the flavored mixture. When asked about the license required to serve tobacco-based flavors in such a commercial establishment, the individual—identified as Jitendra Singh (Manager of 3D Restaurant and Bar)—stated that no such license existed. Consequently, the seven hookahs, seven pipes, and seven *chilams*, along with three containers of ‘Extreme Gold Line Ice Mango’ flavor, were seized by the police. Additionally, fines of ₹200 each were issued to the six young men found smoking hookah inside the café, in accordance with Sections 4 and 6 of the COTPA Act, 2003.
