Three illegal colonies being developed on 42 bighas of private agricultural land demolished

Jaipur: In line with Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma’s vision of good governance and a ‘zero-tolerance’ policy against corruption, encroachment, and irregularities, the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) is continuing its extensive campaign against illegal colonies and encroachments. Acting on the instructions of Jaipur Development Commissioner Siddharth Mahajan, the enforcement wing carried out a major operation across various zones today. They cleared encroachments from approximately 70 bighas of government land valued at around ₹140 crore and completely demolished three new illegal colonies—which were in the initial stages of development—on about 42 bighas of private agricultural land.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police and Chief Enforcement Officer Anand Sharma stated that action was taken against illegal colonies being developed on approximately 70 bighas of prime government pasture land in the Zone-10 area (specifically in villages Govindpura alias Ropada, Sumel, and Bagrana), successfully clearing the land of encroachments. At these sites, boundary walls, tin-shed structures, under-construction frameworks, and other illegal constructions were removed using JCB machines and manual labor. The estimated market value of the reclaimed land is approximately ₹140 crore.
Additionally, illegal colonies being developed without JDA approval or land-use conversion were demolished at the following locations: approximately 10 bighas in Sarna Dungar village (Zone-12), about 4 bighas in Khoraa Bisal village (Zone-17), and around 28 bighas of private agricultural land in Boraj village on Jobner Road (Zone-19). Efforts to establish these illegal colonies were thwarted by removing the newly laid soil-and-gravel roads and other unauthorized structures at these sites. The cost incurred on the demolition will be recovered from the concerned individuals in accordance with the rules.
These operations were carried out jointly by the Deputy Controllers (Enforcement) I, II, and IV, along with enforcement officers from the respective zones, revenue and technical staff, and the enforcement squad, under the supervision of Chief Controller (Enforcement) Shilpa Chaudhary.
