Chief Minister Releases the ‘Employee Welfare Souvenir’

Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma stated that employees play a pivotal role in fulfilling the resolve to achieve a ‘Developed Rajasthan by 2047’ (*Viksit Rajasthan 2047*). Work executed with honesty and transparency serves as the true hallmark of good governance. Therefore, it is our collective responsibility to strengthen our work culture by delivering timely services to the public. He urged employees to uphold absolute integrity in their service and to steer clear of the quagmire of corrupt practices, thereby further reinforcing their commitment to the objective of public service.
The Chief Minister was addressing the 9th Grand Convention of the Rajasthan Municipal Employees Federation, held on Saturday at the RIC in Jaipur. He affirmed that his government is operating on a policy of ‘zero tolerance’ towards corruption. Adhering to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s core mantra—”I will neither take bribes myself, nor will I allow others to do so” (*Na khaunga, na khane dunga*)—we have suspended 103 officials, dismissed 6 officers from service, and permanently withheld the pensions of 11 corrupt officials. Furthermore, we have granted sanction for prosecution in 108 cases involving bribery, trap operations, misuse of official position, and possession of assets disproportionate to income; additionally, strict action has been initiated in 37 other cases under Section 17-A of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma emphasized that cleanliness and superior civic amenities constitute the true identity of a city. He noted that municipal employees serve as the most critical link in the endeavor to keep the state’s cities clean and beautiful, remaining dedicated to the service of the public at all times. He stated that in the Swachh Survekshan 2025, the Jaipur Greater Municipal Corporation secured the 16th rank nationwide among cities with a population exceeding one million, while Udaipur stood at the 13th position among cities with a population ranging from 300,000 to one million. He emphasized that we must work with the objective of making the cities of the state leaders in cleanliness across the country.
The Chief Minister stated that the Prime Minister’s ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’ (Clean India Mission) initiative has today evolved into a mass movement across the country. Through this campaign, a transformative shift has occurred in people’s hygiene habits. Furthermore, by facilitating the construction of toilets in every household, a sense of dignity has been restored to the lives of our mothers and sisters. Additionally, the ‘Smart Cities Mission’ has been launched to foster the development of robust infrastructure and civic amenities in urban areas.
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma remarked that, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a nationwide campaign for water conservation through public participation is currently underway. To further bolster this initiative, the ‘Vande Ganga Water Conservation – Public Campaign’ is being conducted in the state this year, just as it was last year. Concurrently, under the ‘Hariyalo Rajasthan’ (Green Rajasthan) campaign, our government has planted approximately 200 million saplings across the state to date, and a target of planting another 100 million saplings has been set for the current year. As part of this initiative, sandalwood forests will also be developed in the state for the very first time. He noted that the Prime Minister has called upon all citizens to embrace energy conservation and fiscal prudence—an endeavor to which we are all contributing our support.
The Chief Minister affirmed that the state government is working towards the creation of clean, beautiful, and well-organized cities by moving forward with a focus on technology, transparency, and accountability. In this direction, efforts are underway to expand services related to drinking water, sewerage, drainage, and digital civic amenities. Under the ‘AMRUT 2.0’ scheme, 363 projects are currently being executed across 200 cities and towns in the state, backed by an investment of ₹11,560 crore. A new ‘Township Policy 2024’ has been implemented for urban areas. Our objective is to ensure that, alongside the expansion of basic infrastructure in cities, modern sanitation systems and solid waste management mechanisms are significantly strengthened. He emphasized that the general public’s primary and most direct interaction is with the employees of the municipal bodies. Through services ranging from sanitation, drinking water, and roads to sewerage, park maintenance, firefighting, and the issuance of birth and death certificates, these employees play a pivotal role in making the lives of the citizens easier and safer. In this era of rapid urbanization, the role of urban local bodies is set to become even more decisive, comprehensive, and significant in the years to come. In this context, they must all play a pivotal role—driven by a spirit of service and dedication—in steering the state to new heights of progress.
The Chief Minister stated that, for the development of Rajasthan, various projects in the water and electricity sectors are being implemented on the ground. Under the ‘Rising Rajasthan’ initiative, Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth approximately ₹9 lakh crore have already been translated into reality. He added that his government has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) and an Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), successfully curbed the menace of paper leaks in the state, and is continuously providing employment opportunities to the youth. Earlier in the program, the Chief Minister released a commemorative booklet dedicated to employee welfare.
Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Bhagirath Choudhary, remarked that Rajasthan is now under the leadership of a “son of the soil”—a farmer’s son—as its Chief Minister, who has taken numerous significant decisions for the welfare of farmers and the holistic development of the state. In addition to the assistance provided by the Central Government under the ‘PM Kisan Samman Nidhi’ scheme, the State Government has further increased the financial assistance provided to the farmers of the state. He noted that the Chief Minister is constantly visiting villages and cities to engage directly with the common people, working with great sensitivity to resolve their issues. Furthermore, the State Government is continuously striving to make the state greener and to ensure better management of water resources through initiatives such as the ‘Vande Ganga Jal Sanrakshan Jan Abhiyan’ (Vande Ganga Water Conservation Public Campaign) and ‘Hariyalo Rajasthan’ (Green Rajasthan).
Minister of State for Urban Development and Local Self-Government (Independent Charge), Jhabar Singh Kharra, stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the State Government is working relentlessly towards the holistic development, good governance, and public welfare of the state. The government has undertaken numerous significant initiatives in key sectors such as water management, energy, youth welfare, employee welfare, and infrastructure development. Under the Chief Minister’s able leadership, the state is marching steadfastly towards the ambitious goal of ‘Viksit Rajasthan-2047’ (Developed Rajasthan-2047).Present on this occasion were Ravi Jain, Secretary of the Department of Local Self-Government; Bhagchand Shrimal, State President of the Rajasthan Municipal Employees Federation; along with various other dignitaries and a large gathering of employees.
