Issues Key Directives on Law and Order, Road Safety, and Cyber Crime Control

Jaipur. A crime review meeting, presided over by Director General of Police (DGP) Rajiv Kumar Sharma, was held on Tuesday with Range IGs, Police Commissioners, and District Superintendents of Police from across the state. During this meeting, conducted via video conferencing, detailed reviews were conducted regarding law and order, organized crime, road safety, cyber crime control, women’s safety, and administrative arrangements; consequently, important directives were issued to the officials. DGP Sharma stated that the state government is operating under a “zero-tolerance” policy regarding cases involving illegal mining, gravel transportation, and corruption. He directed all officials to ensure strict action is taken with complete commitment. Furthermore, he emphasized the need to conduct effective campaigns against drug trafficking, enhance police field visibility, and maintain constant vigilance. He instructed officials to ensure that, within the next three months, no case pending for over a year remains unresolved at their respective levels. Directives were also issued to take effective action against the filing of false cases.
*Special Focus on Gangsters and Organized Crime*
Based on the priorities of the Rajasthan Police, the meeting reviewed the status of organized crime, ongoing operations against gangsters, and various serious criminal cases. The DGP directed officials to formulate special action plans for affected districts and to execute focused operations.While reviewing the attachment and seizure of assets acquired through criminal activities, he called for more effective action in this regard. Additionally, the utilization of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) within new criminal laws—specifically regarding the service of e-summons and warrants, as well as the system for online FIR registration—was also reviewed.
*Include Important Cases Under the ‘Case Officer Scheme’*
The DGP directed district-level officials to bring significant cases under the ‘Case Officer Scheme’ to ensure high-quality investigation and swift action. The meeting also included a review of range-wise “Area Domination” campaigns and the disposal of seized property currently stored in police *Malkhanas* (property rooms). *Special Campaign to Reduce Road Accidents*
Road safety and traffic management were also given prominence during the meeting. Expressing concern over the high mortality rate in road accidents within the Bhilwara and Udaipur regions, the concerned District Superintendents of Police were directed to undertake special efforts. DGP Sharma issued instructions to conduct special campaigns two days a week to ensure the mandatory use of helmets on highways and in rural areas. He called for effective checking through the maximum utilization of interceptors and breath analyzers.
Additionally, instructions were issued to implement special measures within Police Lines and office premises to strictly prohibit police personnel from operating two-wheelers without helmets.
*Instructions for Cyber Crime Control and Regular Monitoring of Helpline 1930*
During the meeting, the need to place special emphasis on the prevention of cyber crimes and on improving investigative procedures was highlighted. While reviewing the complaints received, resolved, and pending on the Cyber Crime Helpline 1930, all Superintendents of Police (SPs) were directed to ensure its regular monitoring.
*Encourage Online Filing of Complaints*
DGP Sharma directed that complainants visiting police stations should be encouraged to file their complaints online; this would ensure they receive regular updates regarding the action being taken on their cases, while also making the review process more effective.
*Review of Women’s Safety and Police Facilities*
The meeting also included a review of the effective implementation of women’s safety initiatives, the vigilant functioning of the SDRF, the maintenance of Public Information Registers, the operational status of cameras linked to the Abhay Command Center, the integration of private CCTV cameras, facilities available for female personnel at police stations, and the upgradation of community amenities within Police Lines complexes.
Attendees at the meeting included DG (Traffic & Training) Anil Paliwal, DG (SOG) Anand Srivastava, ADG (Law & Order) V.K. Singh, ADG (Crime) Bipin Kumar Pandey, and ADG (PM & W) Dr. [Name].
