Jaipur. The Amrita Haat fair—organized jointly by the Sirohi District Administration and the Department of Women Empowerment and scheduled to take place at the Dussehra Ground from March 13 to March 17—was inaugurated on Friday by the State Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Otaram Dewasi. Accompanied by other dignitaries, Minister of State Dewasi visited every stall to gather information about the products on display and to encourage the women belonging to various Self-Help Groups (SHGs).
Minister of State Dewasi remarked that the organization of Amrita Haat represents an excellent initiative toward women’s empowerment; such fairs serve to boost the morale of women in Self-Help Groups while also aiding in establishing a distinct identity for their products. He stated that, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the government is implementing various schemes aimed at the welfare and progress of women. Furthermore, the government’s unwavering commitment to women’s development is being demonstrated through a series of announcements and policy decisions. During the event, he appealed to everyone to visit Amrita Haat in large numbers to purchase products made by the women of these Self-Help Groups and to offer them their encouragement.
Minister of State Dewasi further asserted that there is absolutely no shortage of diesel, petrol, or LPG (cooking gas) anywhere in Rajasthan, including Sirohi; adequate stocks remain available. Amidst rising tensions in West Asia, the government led by the Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi has directed oil refineries to ramp up production to ensure an uninterrupted supply of LPG to every household, thereby ensuring that daily life remains unaffected. I urge all enlightened citizens not to fall prey to the rumors and false propaganda being disseminated by vested interests. The Government of Rajasthan remains ever-vigilant and fully committed to upholding both public interest and national interest. Notably, with the objective of linking women from Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to self-employment—thereby rendering them self-reliant and economically empowered—the district-level ‘Amrita Haat’ is being organized once again this year at the Dussehra Ground in Sirohi. As in previous years, the event serves as a platform to showcase and market products—including value-added goods—created by women’s SHGs, as well as to establish a distinct identity for these groups. Approximately 40 Self-Help Groups from across the state are participating in the Amrita Haat.
