Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, the state government is working with accountability and transparency to provide sensitive, transparent, and corruption-free good governance to the public. To this end, strict action is being taken continuously against personnel guilty of negligence, indiscipline, and corruption in public welfare works. In this regard, the Chief Minister disposed of more than 50 cases of prosecution sanction, Section 17-A, and departmental inquiry.
Chief Minister Sharma approved prosecution against the then Sub-Divisional Officer, along with two officials of the Public Works and Women and Child Development departments, on charges of illegally passing orders in favor of private individuals and providing illegal benefits.

Furthermore, the then Secretary of the Agricultural Produce Market Committee was dismissed from State Service based on a court conviction, and another officer was removed from State Service for persistent and prolonged absence. He also approved a detailed inquiry and investigation under Section 17-A of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018, against the then Development Officer on charges of abuse of power, irregular payments, and causing loss to the public exchequer.
*27 State Service Officers Punished with Penalty of Withholding of Two to Four Increments with Cumulative Effect on Serious Charges.*
The Chief Minister approved the enhancement of the penalty against an Indian Police Service officer in two cases, in consultation with the Union Public Service Commission. Additionally, in 23 cases involving serious allegations under Rule 16 of the CCA against State Service officers, 27 officers were punished with the penalty of withholding two to four increments with cumulative effect.
Approval to withhold pensions of retired officers in five cases-*
Chief Minister Sharma approved the withholding of pensions of retired officers in five cases and the investigation findings on substantiated allegations in nine other cases, forwarding the cases to the Governor. Four of the five appeals filed by State Service officers were dismissed, with the penalty reduced in one case. Similarly, in one case of prosecution approval, a departmental inquiry was ordered and prosecution was withheld in two cases, while acquittals were approved in three cases of departmental inquiry.
