Jaipur. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, and Minister of State for Civil Aviation (Independent Charge) Gautam Kumar Dak held a meeting on the state’s civil aviation sector at the State Hangar in Jaipur on Saturday.
In this important meeting, various important issues including expansion of air services in Rajasthan, increase and upgrade of airstrips, development work at airports, increasing flight connectivity, exploring the possibilities of new greenfield airports, etc. were discussed in detail. *Independent Directorate should be established for better operation and control of air services: Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu*
In the meeting, the Lok Sabha Speaker stated that Rajasthan is a state with a large geographical area. Therefore, it is crucial to explore the possibilities of new airstrips and domestic airports to facilitate easy access to religious, tourist, educational, and commercial destinations. Similarly, the Union Civil Aviation Minister suggested the establishment of an independent Directorate for better operation and control of air services in the state. He said this would enable the civil aviation sector to progress rapidly in the state.

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said that the state government is working on a plan for improved air connectivity and state-of-the-art air facilities. He said that work should be done on an action plan to expand and enhance air services between various districts through the RCS UDAN scheme, as well as to introduce new flights from major airports.
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said that work should be done on the framework for establishing a civil enclave in Suratgarh. He also directed development work on the Lalgarh airstrip. He also directed to explore the possibility of new greenfield airports in Deeg-Kumher, Sirohi, Sikar, and Bhiwadi.

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said that this would foster regional development and provide alternative airports in case of emergencies. It would also enhance tourism development, business activities, and benefit expatriate Rajasthanis. He directed to expedite the work on the new civil enclave and approach road at Uttarlai Airport.
Chief Secretary V. Srinivas, Additional Chief Secretary (Chief Minister) Akhil Arora, Chairman of the Airport Authority of India Vipin Kumar, Principal Secretary of Civil Aviation Department Naveen Jain, along with officials from the Chief Minister’s Office and related officials were present on the occasion.
