Ensure basic facilities in schools and effective implementation of government schemes

District Collector Dr. Jitendra Kumar Soni directed officials to ensure basic facilities for students in all government schools and to ensure effective and timely implementation of various educational schemes of the state and central governments.

A meeting of the District Executive Committee of the Education Department was held in the District Collectorate auditorium on Thursday. Presiding over the meeting, District Collector Dr. Jitendra Kumar Soni instructed officials that the availability of basic facilities in schools is essential to improve the quality of the education system. He directed officials to regularly inspect all PM Shri schools and ensure that the school premises have drinking water, clean and usable toilets, libraries, and other essential facilities, including electricity.

Dr. Soni also stressed the need to make school libraries more active.  He directed that books available in libraries be regularly distributed among students and that students be encouraged to read books. Efforts should also be made to preserve books and develop a sense of responsibility among students.

During the meeting, the District Collector paid special attention to the problem of landless schools and directed education officials to take immediate action to provide land for such schools. He also directed them to ensure the provision of playgrounds to promote sports activities in schools.

He directed education officials to launch a special campaign to increase enrollment in government schools, prioritize student authentication and Aadhaar authentication, and achieve department-set targets in a timely manner.

During the meeting, the progress of various schemes and programs related to the Education Department was also reviewed. The District Collector directed officials to ensure continuous monitoring and effective coordination to ensure that the benefits of education-related schemes reach every eligible student.

Additional District Collector Ashish Kumar, Chief District Education Officer Mukul Kaviya, District Education Officer, Block Education Officer, officers of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan and officers of various related departments were present in the meeting.
