Rajasthan Police Conducts Surgical Strike Against Organized Criminals in 19 Districts

1,276 Criminals Identified as Part of Gangs Possessing Illegal Weapons, Extortion, and Other Criminal Activities

214 Arrested, Large Quantity of Illegal Weapons and Drugs Seized

Jaipur. Implementing Director General of Police Rajiv Kumar Sharma’s vision to ensure a fear-free environment in Rajasthan, the police launched a major raid early Sunday morning against organized gangs. The primary objective of this operation was to uproot the network of gangs possessing illegal weapons, extorting money, and committing other criminal activities in the area. The operation was carried out in 14 other districts of the state, including the Jaipur and Jodhpur Commissionerates.

Director General of Special Operations Anand Shrivastava was assigned command of this mission. Under his able guidance, the Rajasthan Police’s Anti-Gangster Task Force took charge. The blueprint for this entire operation was prepared under the supervision of ADG Dinesh MN and DIG Yogesh Yadav.

For ground-level action, a team of experienced police inspectors, including SP Gyan Chand Yadav, Additional Superintendents of Police Narottam Verma and Siddhant Sharma, and DSPs Phoolchand Taylor and Bhanwar Lal, took charge. A list of targeted criminals was shared with all other districts and instructions for “zero tolerance” were issued.

DGP Rajiv Kumar Sharma stated that all Range IGs monitored the entire operation, and police teams conducted the operations in the field under the leadership of local Superintendents of Police.

Identified Criminals and Police Raids

A total of 1,276 criminals were targeted for this special operation. According to the data, 383 criminals belonging to the Rohit Godara and Lawrence gangs, 534 from local gangs, and 359 wanted and wanted criminals from other categories were identified. Police teams conducted intensive raids on their hideouts across the state.

*Illegal Weapons and Drugs Seized*

Police seized a large quantity of illegal weapons and drugs during this operation:

*Weapons*

A total of 30 cases were registered under the Arms Act and 17 pistols, 3 country-made pistols, 14 cartridges, 6 knives, and 6 daggers were recovered.

*Drugs*

In 34 cases under the NDPS Act, police seized 1.166 kg of heroin, 8.544 grams of smack, 5.29 grams of MD, 300 grams of opium, 14.792 kg of marijuana, and 26.08 kg of poppy husk.

*Opium Cultivation*

During operations in Jhunjhunu district, police also recovered 8,153 opium plants.

*Arrest of wanted criminals and wanted criminals*

By the end of the operation, the police had succeeded in arresting a total of 214 absconding and wanted criminals. This included 11 wanted criminals, 157 warrants, and 46 other wanted criminals. In addition, 32 vehicles and 19 mobile phones and electronic devices were also seized as evidence from various districts.

*Major success in Hanumangarh and Churu*

During a blockade in Hanumangarh, police arrested two members of the Bambiha gang from Punjab. They recovered 11 pistols and 22 magazines. These weapons were to be supplied from Indore to Punjab. In Churu, a raid was conducted at the home of a hardcore criminal named Suresh Sen, from where a large quantity of illicit liquor, cards from 12 different banks, passbooks and checkbooks, and ₹530,600 in cash were recovered. Dhanraj alias Dhanna, a member of the Mahendra Delana gang, who lives abroad, was also arrested in the same district, and an illegal country-made pistol was recovered. The accused was planning to commit a serious crime in the Kuchaman area.

During this operation, interrogation notes and dossiers were prepared for 428 gang members to completely dismantle their network in the future.

In Jaipur Range, intensive raids were conducted in all four districts of Jaipur, including Sikar, Jhunjhunu, and Kotputli-Bahror. In Jaipur, 142 criminals were identified and 62 dossiers were prepared. In Jhunjhunu, raids were conducted at the hideouts of 194 criminals and 8,153 opium plants were seized. In Sikar, 95 criminals and in Kotputli-Bahror, 68 criminals were identified and action was taken. 13 dossiers were prepared and two vehicles were seized.

In the Bikaner Range, extensive action was taken in Bikaner, Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, and Churu districts. In Bikaner, raids were conducted against 67 criminals, resulting in seven cases under the NDPS Act, and 62 kg 155 grams of poppy husk and other narcotics were seized. In Sri Ganganagar, raids were conducted at the hideouts of 138 criminals, leading to the registration of 14 NDPS cases, and the seizure of 1 kg 130.21 grams of heroin, 11 kg 870 grams of poppy husk, and 200 grams of opium. In Hanumangarh, action was taken against 61 criminals, resulting in the recovery of 11 pistols and 12 magazines from the Bambiha gang of Punjab. In Churu, 105 criminals were identified and five wanted criminals were arrested.

In the Jodhpur Range, raids were conducted in Jodhpur East-West, Jodhpur Rural, and Phalodi districts.  In Jodhpur city, eight dossiers/interrogation notes were prepared after raids on the hideouts of 51 criminals. In Jodhpur rural, an illegal weapon was recovered and three wanted criminals were arrested after action was taken against 12 criminals. In Phalodi, 14 kg 210 grams of poppy husk was recovered after action was taken against 157 identified criminals and three absconding wanted criminals were arrested.

In the Ajmer range, action was taken in Ajmer city, Nagaur, and Didwana-Kuchaman districts. 18 criminals were identified in Ajmer. In Nagaur, a case was registered under the NDPS Act, and 14.215 kg of ganja was recovered. Several wanted criminals, including one wanted criminal, were arrested.

In Didwana-Kuchaman, raids were conducted at the hideouts of 166 criminals, resulting in the arrest of seven wanted criminals and the seizure of three vehicles.

In Kota range, 119 criminals were identified in Kota city and 17 cases under Arms Act were registered in which pistols, country-made pistols, cartridges and sharp weapons were recovered. In four cases under NDPS Act, 556 grams of ganja and 1.44 grams of smack were seized. Several warrant accused including ten wanted criminals were arrested and 187 habitual criminals were also detained under 170 BNSS.

In this coordinated action carried out simultaneously in the identified districts of the state, a large quantity of narcotics, illegal weapons and vehicles were seized and the network of organized crime was effectively hit by the arrest of wanted, wanted and habitual criminals.
