One of these initiatives is the effectively implemented “Raasta Kholo” campaign in Jaipur district, which has transformed the rural areas in just 15 months.
Under the direction of Jaipur District Collector Dr. Jitendra Kumar Soni, the district administration’s sensitive initiative has reopened over 1,700 roads that had been closed for years in Jaipur district, facilitating access for millions of villagers to their farms, hamlets, and villages.
To ensure effective implementation of the “Raasta Kholo Abhiyan” and to ensure maximum public benefit, District Collector Dr. Jitendra Kumar Soni himself is continuously and intensively monitoring the campaign. Due to the administration’s proactive and dialogue-based strategy, many years-old disputes are being resolved through consensus and understanding. Fagi tehsil topped the campaign, with the highest number of 148 roads opened. Meanwhile, Maujmabad tehsil provided significant relief to villagers by opening 132 roads.
Campaign Nodal Officer and Additional District Collector Ashish Kumar stated that under the guidance of District Collector Dr. Jitendra Kumar Soni, the “Raasta Kholo Abhiyan” is not limited to opening roads alone, but has become a powerful tool for facilitating the rural economy and social life. A total of 1,703 roads were opened in Jaipur under the Rasta Kholo Abhiyan from 15 November 2024 to 21 February 2026. A target has been set to open a minimum of 3 roads every week in each tehsil. Under this, roads blocked for years in villages, fields and hamlets are being opened with consent and persuasion.
Additional District Collector informed that under the Abhiyan, maximum 148 roads were opened in Fagi tehsil. After this, 132 roads were opened in Maujmabad, 119 in Andhi, 103 in Chaumun, 100 in Shahpura, 91-91 in Phulera and Chaksu, 90 in Jamwaramgarh, 89-89 in Amer and Dudu, 85 in Rampura Dabdi, 83 in Madhorajpura, 81 in Bassi, 79 in Jobner, 75 in Kishangarh, 72 in Kotkhavda, 70 in Jalsu, 57 in Tunga, 34 in Sanganer, 10 in Kalwad and 5 roads were opened in Jaipur tehsil. The Raasta Kholo Abhiyan has reopened traffic routes in the district that had been blocked for years, providing direct relief to the villagers. This has not only eased traffic in the district but also directly benefited the villagers and farmers. The opening of roads has facilitated farmers in transporting machinery and produce to their fields. Access to emergency health services has improved. Students no longer have to take long detours to reach school and college.
Inspired by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, this humble effort by the Jaipur District Administration, with its sensitive and solution-oriented approach, has resolved age-old disputes and strengthened social harmony. This is why the Raasta Kholo Abhiyan has become synonymous with relief, trust, and good governance in Jaipur’s rural areas. This initiative is not only opening blocked roads but also paving the way for trust between the administration and the public.
