The reports of delays and bias in the IAS selection process from ‘other services’ in the state are worrying. When the UPSC Board and the Central Government have approved the names, why have these promotions been stalled at the CMO level for the past month?
Prioritizing ‘favorite’ faces or political influence over merit and transparency in administrative appointments is against institutional dignity. The public discussions about the relationships and closeness of officials involved in the selection process that are becoming public raise serious questions about the government’s impartiality.
I demand that the state government end this impasse and immediately issue appointments based on merit, so that the administrative structure can function smoothly, free from politics.
