Historic havelis to be preserved, tourism to be expanded
State government committed to ‘development with heritage’: Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma
Development projects worth Rs 539 crore gifted to Sikar and Jhunjhunu district

Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that the state government is working with a firm resolve on the principle of development along with the preservation of heritage. The Chief Minister also said that in the last two years, our government has given new impetus to the development and expansion of basic facilities and infrastructure such as roads, electricity, water, education, and health in the state.
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma was addressing the inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremony of various development projects organized in Ramgarh Shekhawati, Sikar, on Wednesday, to mark the completion of two years of the state government. During this time, the Chief Minister said that the entrepreneurs of Shekhawati are full of a spirit of social service and philanthropy. Those born in this region also have a passion for serving their motherland. A large number of people from here are serving Mother India by joining the army and armed forces.
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that the havelis of Shekhawati are our unique heritage, and the state government is committed to their preservation. 662 historic havelis in Jhunjhunu, Sikar, and Churu have been identified for conservation and restoration, which will be developed as tourism hubs to strengthen the local economy. A law will also be brought in for their preservation and development.
Shekhawati to benefit from Film Tourism Promotion Policy
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma also said that the Shekhawati region has been a favorite location for film shootings. To make Rajasthan a center for national and international film production, the state government has released the Film Tourism Promotion Policy-2025. Through this policy, along with the expansion of tourism activities in the state, employment opportunities will also be created at the local level.
*Work Begins on DPR for Yamuna Water Agreement*
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that the Yamuna water agreement is being implemented to provide water to the Shekhawati region. Work on preparing its Detailed Project Report (DPR) has already begun. He expressed confidence that Shekhawati will receive ample water from the Yamuna, and this land will become lush and green. The Ram Jal Setu Link Project is also being implemented rapidly.
State Government Realizing the Commitment to Welfare of the Poor
The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken several steps for the welfare of farmers, youth, the poor, and women in the country. Our government is carrying forward this commitment to the welfare of the poor. He said that women in the state are being made self-reliant through the Lakhpati Didi Yojana, and more than 12 lakh women have become Lakhpati Didis after receiving training.
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that our government has increased the amount given under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana from Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 6,500, and so far, approximately 10 lakh women have benefited from this scheme. Under the Lado Protsahan Yojana, Rs. 1.5 lakh is being provided, and 4.6 lakh girls have benefited from the first installment of the scheme. Similarly, our government is providing a subsidy of Rs. 5 per liter on milk to livestock farmers and is providing milk for nutritious meals to young children at Anganwadi centers.
*Recruitment Process Underway for 1.53 Lakh Posts for Youth*
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that appointments have been made to 92,000 posts to provide employment opportunities to the youth, and the recruitment process is underway for more than 1.53 lakh posts. Our government will fulfill the target of 4 lakh government jobs in 5 years. He said that our government is bringing a youth policy so that young people can also become job creators. He said that our government has fulfilled 70 percent of the promises made in the manifesto within two years, and like last year, we have presented an account of our work to the public this year as well.
*More work done in 2 years than in 5 years*
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that our government has done more work in just two years than the previous government did in five years. Our government has increased the state’s power generation capacity by 6,363 megawatts in two years, while the previous government increased it by only 3,952 me
gawatts in five years. He said that we have provided assistance of Rs 3,433 crore to cow shelters in two years, while the previous government could only provide Rs 3,117 crore in the entire five years. Similarly, our government has constructed 15,684 km of roads in two years, while the previous government could only construct 13,160 km of roads in five years. The previous government provided irrigation facilities to 52,000 hectares of land through the canal system in five years, while we have provided irrigation facilities to approximately 85,000 hectares. Similarly, compared to the 29,000 farm ponds constructed during the previous government’s five years, our government has constructed more than 35,000 in just two years.
Minister of State for Urban Development (Independent Charge) Jhabar Singh Kharra said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, excellent work has been done in every sector in the state during the last two years. He said that understanding the need for water in the state, our government has taken historic decisions such as the Ramjan Setu Link Project and the Yamuna Water Agreement. This will make Yamuna water available to the districts of Shekhawati. *Foundation Stone Laid and Projects Inaugurated for Development Works Worth Rs. 155 Crore in Sikar and Rs. 384 Crore in Jhunjhunu*
At the event, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone and inaugurated development works worth over Rs. 155 crore for Sikar district. These included the foundation stone laying for a Road Over Bridge (ROB) between Bhagega and Neemkathana railway stations and a four-lane road from Sabalpura Stand to Bhadhadhar Tirahe. Several other projects, including the widening and strengthening of various roads, were also inaugurated. For Jhunjhunu district, development works worth over Rs. 384 crore were inaugurated and their foundation stones laid. This included the foundation stone laying for a sub-district hospital in Chirawa and beautification works in Nawalgarh, among other projects. Additionally, various projects, including development works worth over Rs. 191 crore under the RDSS scheme, were also inaugurated.
Earlier, the Chief Minister inspected an exhibition organized by the district administration and distributed scooters to beneficiaries under the Chief Minister’s Divyang Scooty Scheme.
Present on the occasion were Chairman of the Sainik Kalyan Advisory Committee Prem Singh Bajor, MLAs Gordhan, Subhash Meel, Harlal Saharan, Rajendra Bhambu, former Leader of the Opposition Rajendra Rathore, and a large number of citizens.
