Jaipur. The Rajasthan Sampark 181 helpline is proving to be a boon for resolving the issues faced by the general public. On Friday, Praveen Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of the Public Works Department (PWD), inspected the Rajasthan Sampark Helpline (181) located at the State Secretariat and held a meeting with the concerned officials. He engaged in a direct dialogue with the complainants and issued instructions to the relevant officials for immediate resolution of their grievances.
*Problems Resolved in an Average of 6 Days During March*
The Public Works Department is doing excellent work towards ensuring the swift and high-quality resolution of issues registered on the 181 helpline. During the month of March, the department resolved issues within an average timeframe of just 6 days. Notably, 3,228 complaints have been registered so far in March, out of which 752 have already been resolved. Furthermore, a significant highlight is that the satisfaction rate has stood at 79 percent.
During the visit, the ACS interacted with 11 complainants whose grievances pertained to the department and issued directives for the resolution of their issues. During the hearing, the complainants brought various issues to the department’s attention, such as illegal speed breakers on roads, overgrown bushes along roadways, and the accumulation of soil/debris. Taking these matters seriously, the Additional Chief Secretary instructed the officials to ensure their prompt resolution. To ensure the high-quality resolution of grievances registered on the Sampark Portal, the ACS (Additional Chief Secretary) convened a meeting with subordinate officials. During this meeting, directives were issued to reduce the time taken for grievance redressal and to enhance the level of satisfaction regarding resolved complaints. He further directed that action be initiated against officials found negligent in the handling of grievances. In compliance with these directives, the department subsequently issued show-cause notices to the officials identified as negligent. During this session, ACS Gupta also reviewed complaints pertaining to the Department of Tourism, Art & Culture, and the Jawahar Kala Kendra, and engaged in direct dialogue with the complainants.
**File Summoned Over Pending Approval of Tourism Unit Project**
During the proceedings, the ACS reviewed a specific grievance registered on the Sampark Helpline. This complaint highlighted the prolonged delay in granting approval to a tourism unit project. The complainant had also demanded that action be taken against the officials responsible for keeping the file pending for such an extended period. The ACS interacted with the complainant to gather details regarding the matter and subsequently summoned the relevant file to investigate the reasons behind the delay in its disposal.
Present on this occasion were Joint Secretary of the Department of Public Grievance Redressal Harsh Sawan Sukha, Group General Manager of RISL G.K. Sharma, Additional Director of the Rajasthan Sampark Portal Sudarshan Singh Deora, along with other officials.
It is noteworthy that, in accordance with the directives of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, and with the objective of ensuring the expeditious resolution of grievances concerning the general public, Secretaries of all departments are personally making themselves available on scheduled dates at the Rajasthan Sampark Helpline to engage in direct dialogue with complainants. Through the 181 Helpline, citizens can register their grievances from the comfort of their homes and receive a prompt resolution to their issues.
